Hi guys, pretty new to the game, currently have a lvl 15 Dwarf Warrior. No my question is about adding friends, a guy helped me out the other night compelte a task, and agreed to add each other as mates should i need help in the future (he's lvl 50 lol). Now he said he added me, no worries there, but when i tried to add him it said i couldn't and that he needed to be part of my alliance first?

Anyone shed some light on this for me. And also any help on levelling up would be nice!!

Cheers,
Dunc

Hi welcome :)

Are you sure you spelt his/hers name correctly? And if they have those infernal dots/ticks above letters in their name you would have to include those aswell ;)

Pretty sure i spelt his name right it was Heavymetal, so nothing too tricky, even for me!

A quick search of the armory on US and EU brings up about 100 "Heavymetal" character names, but none are on the server Black dragonflight you have on your info bar. So I guess you have missed out/added a letter somewhere or as I said earlier they have those ` .. above the name which you missed out ;)

Didn't know you could do that lol, i'll double check the server when i get home, was sure it was something about dragons and flying lol!! Cheers for your help though mate. Is there anyway i can find him, like a log of people i've spoken too?

The easiest way to add someone as a friend is to click on them so they are target and then click add friend. No typing necessary.

If your friend is selected you can open the friend panel ("o" key) and click Add Friend. I do this when I'm playing with someone who looks like they may want to play with me again in future. My friend list is full of people who were very helpful at one time but later we went our own ways. People often have such odd spellings to their names that it's very hard to remember, so just click on the character and Add Friend. You can always remove later.

I remember a guy I played with a couple of times called Smoktilidie--I had a heck of a time trying to figure out what his name was when I wanted to contact him. It even took me several minutes to figure out his name was intended to be "smoke till I die"! But he didn't spell it that way.
