Im a tailor / enchantor. My tailoring is at 354 and enchanting at 290. I have a few questions in each catagory.

Tailoring - I just chose shadow.
Do I have to go back to that alter in shadowmoon valley to make shadow cloth? What about the other cloths

I have some felcloth from earlier. I dont see recipes that give me pts that use the stuff. Should I just make mooncloth with it and sell it or I can save the mooncloth for some recipes. Whats the best use for it? I can also make soul cloth and spell cloth. Are those the types taht I can only make one of each day?

Enchanting - I have been able until recently just use my tailored items to lvl enchanting for the most part. But Im stuck on the eternal essence recipes. My sever sells gee for 9g. lee for 3g. Im sitting here with 75 greater planer essence in bank, about 15 stacks of arcane dust too. I dont really want to spend 200g on mats. Ive tried to backtrack and make the tailored items but its a losing battle. If I farm the stuff to make items that "mighjt" drop gee I waste a lot of time. It doesnt seem to pay off at this point. If I buy items form ah to d/e again the payoff isnt that great. 10 items might give me 2 gee. I did stumble on a recipe. A cloak armor one that usees only vision dust. Now I can do this for a few pts. Im sure. REally just want ideas on how to get past the eternal essence part of chanting.

Eh, enchanting will cost a fortune to level. No way around it. Either it is going to take a lot of time or a lot of money.

Yes, you must go to the alter of shadows to make shadowcloth... every single time, you must go to netherstorm for spellcloth...moonwell for mooncloth.

I personally hate that.. i think it is terrible. 10 minute flights from SMV to Netherstorm just to make some cloth. More flying around on a bird sucks.

Soulcloth you can make anytime, it works just like imbued netherweave (stupid mana loom)

Hope that answered your questions.

Agree with the flying bit, but as a mage with HS set to area 52 you can minimise a bit :)

As a mage you don't need shadowcloth.

As a shadow priest you need shadowcloth for fsw, and spellcloth for spellstrike.

Thus, the travel.

No real way around it that I have found, what I started doing was just doing my shadowcloth xmutes as I needed and then on days when we raid TK i woudl do the spellcloth.

I think this type of thing should be taken out of the game.

That or put a FORGE OF HINEY SPANKING on top of a mountain in blades edge that takes 15 minutes to get to and force blacksmiths to go there every day or two to craft any items of any use.

Alchemy already has this dumb feature, to create the best flasks in the game you have to travel to a bart simpson style treehouse.

what about frost mages with shadow weave ?
but i do agree on alch i cant just knock a few flasks up outside the raid entrance i need to get guild members to come to shat with mats plenty of time before we start raid, so maybe i should have a separate anvil to make some epic gear like dark iron ore crafting
