I did a week of night-shifts last week so didn't shave. It's been about 11 days so far. It's stopped itching now and is coming along quite nicely, I might keep it :)

Whether or not you should grow a beard depends in large part on genetics. Beard growth is genetically determined and there is not much anyone can do other than to accept what they've been given. If you have developed enough facial hair to allow you to grow a beard, then you owe it to yourself to grow it out at least once during your lifetime -- even if only as an experiment. You may be so pleased with the results, even unexpectedly so, that you decide to keep the beard permanently.

The main problem is the ladies dont like them. Which means regular shaving for me ;)

Although the ladies seem to like a shaved head with some facial stubble. Hmmm.

I had a goatee for a couple years. My wife *****ed about it the whole time. So did my 80 year old neighbor lady, which was funny. I just did it for a change of pace. Now I only shave about twice a week, so I've got a pretty good stubble going most of the time. I like that better.

Haha right on. I tried to catagorize my beard on the website, but it doesent really fall under any category. The only category of beard i can think of for mine, is Riker.

I only found out a couple of days ago that i have the EXACT SAME beard that Riker has on Star Trek:TNG. It must have been some kind of subliminal thing, shaving my beard like his. I didn't know i was doing it, but Riker was always my favorite character on that show when i was a kid.

Crazy how things turn out.

I hate shaving with a passion. I've had at least a goatee for the last 15 years or so - I tend to let it all grow out to a full beard then use a beard trimmer to shave to a stubble apart from the goatee. I do this about once a month.

I've had a 'tache since I was about 20 (39 now). I did shave everything off in around '97 once - hated it so much I vowed never again to have a fully clean shaven face

most off-topic everThat's what the off-topic forum is for, actually.

I have a goatee for about 5 years now. Pretty normal length, I tend to trim it when it grows too long and heavy metal like. As for width, it just covers my chin (I shave my jaw).

I can't stand either! Nothing better than a cleanly-shaven guy with nice hair... although a little bit of stubble isn't so bad. My boyfriend looks good with a five o'clock shadow, but after 2-3 days I wouldn't be so fond of it.

Looks like the 'tache is as close as it gets. :tache:

I've found that women have widely ranging opinions on the beard. When I had the goatee, my wife didn't like it, but a number of my female friends liked it a lot. My best friend's wife liked it so much, she asked him to grow one too, and he still has it several years later.

I mean...it's all personal preference...some men like a woman who has to brush her upper lip, others don't :p

I find men who are very approachable and laid back have facial hair...I probably am subconsciously attracted to that quality rather than the hair!

Although, it would be a nice romantic night, breading my partners nasal sprigs :)

I had a goatee for about a year and a half, currently trying to see if my full beard is worth it. At 22 I think it's pretty ok-ish so far...
