Hey guys this post can be considered a general knowledge/rant thread about latency.

My average Latency on a good day is anywhere between 400 and 500ms, yet i do here that some people have a big whinge when their latency goes above 50, i mean WTF is having a latency of 50+ really a big deal for your guys, i wish i could get my latency that low.

Normally it is around 199-120 but due to problems with the server it has been avridging around 2K

I average around 30ms latency when things are good, but lately I've been getting periods of 600ms-1200ms latency. I used to get continuous 400ms+ latency when I played Guild Wars; it was unplayable for high-level PvP.

speedtest shows my home pc at 50 ms but the game has me sitting usually around 150-250. I've been getting issues when my wife and I are both playing where we disappear from each other, or I can see myself do things on her screen that are happening before they do on mine.

Examples:

When dancing I do a move on her screen before I see it on mine.

When we're riding side by side her screen shows me behind her, mine shows her behind me.
Probably why I have to occasionally go past the person in the BG if I'm on my rogue as when I'm in position they are out of range. . .

It varies a lot on my server for some reason.

Sometimes it's 60-70, and later at night it often goes up to 180 or so. Kind of annoying.

Usually 35 - 100. On average, about 50. But, I've done a helluva lot of tweaking on my home network, and Linux just is plain better with the "networking thing" than Windows ever has been. The latency troubles I have, if any, are typically something between my home network (on the West Coast) to the East Coast server I play on. When I play on a West Coast server, I've gotten as low as 12 - 20 latency.

It varies quite a bit on my server (Kargath). Good days are around 60ms, bad days are like 160ms. I really don't notice a difference between the two.

I dont pay much attention to latency unless the bar is yellow or red. if its green, i dont notice any performance loss.

35-200 until my little brother goes on msn on the other computer and I get landed with a 10k+latency :'(

It always happens at the worst times :p

I usually run just under 50. It's a shame other aspects of my connection aren't as good. It drops regularly and download speeds are awful, so it's getting swapped.

During the lighter hours of the day ( read:school hours and late at night ) its usualy around 30-50ms, rest of the time it jumps around between 200-400.

Except for tonight, when all the BGs crashed while we were 3 manning Onyxia with 2k ms :(
