The latest phase of the WoWDigger (http://www.wowdigger.com) character planner has just been put live on WoWDigger.com which now makes it super simple to add equipment to your characters for theory crafting. Characters can now be easily equipped without having to leave your character screen thanks to the cool new search function. Simply search the item, click it, add enchants, click 'add' and it'll just drop onto your character.
We are encouraging as many folk as possible to test out the new system and report any bugs so we can hop right on those. Also note it is better to use the WoWDigger client (http://wowdigger.com/auth/index/uploader) instead of our armory importing feature as your character will then be bang up to date after every session of play. You are also helping us a great deal with future developments by using the uploader to gather data.
The character pages look like this character (http://wowdigger.com/character/view/12214/stabbatha) but when you are logged in you get a nifty new Equip Item search box on the right so you can search and add your own items for theory crafting. You can see that in this image (http://wow.incgamers.com/gallery/data/500/digger_profiler.jpg).
Remember also you can hide all or none of your character details from the public or even choose to just show to your guildmates or just yourself.
If you want to embed your character profile in a forum post as seen here (http://wow.incgamers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4055930&postcount=332) just type character's number found in url .

On my main character, it now takes about 3-5 seconds to switch tabs, during which the CPU is pegged at 100%. Whenever I click on an item, it disappears instead of taking me to the item web page. It's difficult to test out the search and drop feature on my main character because several tabs overlap the "Search Equipment" field on the right side.
On a different character, a level 7 warlock, I created a new level 70 outfit and tried to put on Frozen Shadow Weave stuff, but couldn't figure out how. The items appeared grey instead of purple, which was unexpected based on your screenshot.
I'm using Windows XP with Firefox 2.0.0.11. The overlapping tabs do not occur in IE6, but the lag while switching tabs is even worse. The lag also appears to be related to how many outfits the character has, because my main probably has 15 tabs and is dog slow, but a lot of my alts have between zero and 5 tabs, and the tabs are much more responsive.
If you look at the characters linked to my account, especially my paladins, you'll see that I make heavy use of outfitter, so I'm not looking to bash anything. I think y'all have done an excellent job with the site and I use wowdigger constantly, so I hope you get things fixed soon.

can you give me a link to your profile so we can check here. Also use thelooking glass to show or not show grey items. There are still a few tweaks we have to do, we are looking for exactly this type of feedback :)

Rushster, I sent you a pm with a link to my main character, the one with 15 outfits and rather long delays between clicking tabs.
As for using the looking glass, I don't think you quite understood what I was saying. This is for my level 7 warlock, with a level 70 outfit. Similar things happen for several of my lower level characters (i.e. not level 70). If I type in "Shadow" into the search box and press enter or click the looking glass, a looooong list of items shows up. Of these items, it appears that I can only click a few of them and add them to my character. Around 95% of the items appear grey, and cannot be clicked. Some of them appear to be lower level items, something you'd expect a level 7 warlock to be able to equip (e.g. Shadowy Bracers, but some are quite high level, such as the Ashtongue Talisman of Shadows.
A bit more testing reveals that the very first time I load a character and search for an item, I get a shorter list of non-grey items. If I hit enter again, or use the looking glass, or if I type in another search, I get the longer list with grey items. The basic problem remains, however. I cannot click the items for my lower level character's level 70 outfits. If I had to guess, I'd say that the items that I can click on are based off of the character level and not the outfit level. Some of the items may show up because they seem to be quest rewards, and thus are restricted by the level you can get the quest rather than hard limits on the item itself.
I hope this helps.

Rush,
I think your new feature is going to be great. I had some difficulty seeing it, though. I have several profiles for my warlock and, using Firefox, the outfit tabs overlap the new Search and Drop area. Using MS IE, I don't see the Drop and Search boxes. Here is the link to my outfits:

Cheers.

Yep I see the issue. We are rejigging this to resolve all the above issues but we have to finish off another feature first then we will tackle this. As we are 70% with the other site feature we don't want to drop the ball on it right away. Thanks for yor patience and kind words :)

Something else I just noticed... if you add an item with an enchantment, the next item you add will apply the same enchantment by default, even for things like necklaces and belts which cannot have enchantments.
Something has changed because now my tooltips are all messed up. They show items for outfits that are not active. I think this is related to deleting an outfit and the #o1 #o2 scheme used to denote the tabs in the url.
By the way, it's now much easier to create new outfits and add items to existing outfits, so creating a new character to play around with is now much easier and less laggy than updating my actual character. So I'm back in business and can now wait patiently for fixes to the current system. :)

Should be more enhancements this week folks. Right click to remove items should be implemented and we have improved the tooltips.
Thanks for those notes, we'll check those :)
