Gems / Sockets - can you 'unsocket' ?

Hi guys

Finally got my first piece of armor that has sockets, and I equiped it with a red, yellow and blue.

Anyway, I'm wondering if in the future when I replace that armor with something better, if there is a way to remove the gems and re-use them in another armor piece?

No, gems stay in a socket and when you want to replace it with another, they get destroyed. You also cannot remove / recover them

You can put new gems into used sockets (e.g. if you want to use green gems now and replace 'em with blue quality ones later), but you can't take the gems out of the sockets.
