Hi everyone. I just got the game tonight, and a time card, the works. However, when I signed up, I was given this Burning Crusade Free Trial. I don't Want this trial, because I dont want Burning Crusade. I just want to play the normal game. However, when I try to log in, it will not let me, it says I must download the burning crusade. The problem with that, is once I end the 10 day Crusade trial, I won't be able to use that character on the regular game, right? Or will my character just be on the regular game and crusade will go away? And so that's 10 days down the tube, since I do not want to spend an additional $30 on the Crusade. How do I get rid of the trial, or just log in to the normal game?? I have a petition in game, but noone is answering me, and customer service is closed. I am brand spanking new to the game and so far I'm so sad :( I also bought the game for my girlfriend, and hers is doing just fine - no problems at all, and no crusade nonsense. Help?
Thank you! :)

As long as your character isn't a Blood Elf or Draenei then yes, you can keep playing with them even after the TBC trial is over.
Might want to consider getting it anyway, if only because the Ghostlands can be a bit easier on the newer players than the Barrens is. Talking from a Horde perspective here, no clue if the same applies to the Alliance side.
Not quite sure, how the jewelcrafter thing fits into this though. *shrugs*

If you take up jewelcrafting during the TBC trial, and then resuming playing the normal game, you won't be able to train your skill any further - the trainers are in TBC areas only.
As for Alliance starting areas, the Draenei starting islands are indeed also a bit easier to level - but I think you could manage just find without it. Of course, if you were to take the trial, make a non-Draenei character, and then play in the Draenei area until the trial runs out, then you could benefit from it without having to worry to lose anything.
(I'm just not sure how it goes when you're logged out in that area by the time the trial expires..)

I'd just go and buy TBC.... you're missing out on a lot of content without it and $30 is hardly a huge amount of cash.

You must download and install the files for BC even if you don't want to buy it. You need to have all the updated files so your rig can properly render all the BEs and Draenei, etc. You don't even need to use the 10 day trial if you don't want to, but you do need to download and install the files.

The normal game? TBC is part of the "normal" game. The expansion isnt a seperate game, it just adds to the pre-TBC content.
