We just had some thunder and lightning. Except instead of followed by rain, it started snowing. Into a windy blizzard. After doing some researching this is called Thundersnow. It happens rarely. Here's what I found on wiki:

At least it stopped, now I can go back to watching Doctor Who.

I wish we had some interesting weather here in the middle of the UK. It rarely snows, we only get a few thunderstorms a year, even rain only tends to last a couple hours or so.

Boring ...

Be happy with your tame weather. I'm looking out the window to blustering snow and ice-covered roads. Its almost -40 celcius out right now. Looking at the parking lot, i can see a car that has been completely engulfed by drifting snow. I would take boring weather over extreme cold any day.

Honestly I would love to witness it. When my grandmother died a while ago, we had to go down to arizona and claim all her stuff during the monsoon season. I saw some the most beautiful displays finger lightning then I have ever seen in any video or pictures.

Thundersnow is awesome. We've had it once this winter. I love thunderstorms in the summer, and thunder in a snow storm is just too cool.
