Wowerror strikes

[Resbang]

Few days ago i decided to make a trial account to see how addons work. I had retail account, but didn't make progress with that and i am thinking of buying new copy of wow to make things cheaper. So, i made trial account, double clicked wow icon and clicked Play and i get the most annoying thing i have ever gotten so far. Best part is that my previous retail account isn't active and im not paying just to use forums. I wish you people here can help a little. So heres the full log:

Things i have tried so far:

remove interface folder, empty cache and WTF. Didn't work
disable sounds. Didn't work
opengl mode and windowed mode. Didn't work.
Reinstall wow. Didn't work.
Clean memory sticks inside computer. Didn't work.....
Send complain letter to Blizzard. Havent tried yet.

1280 MB RAM? Is this the original RAM configuration that the computer was purchased/built with?

This amount of RAM doesen't even make sense - its obviously not running in dual channel mode... Did you mean 1024MB RAM?

No no no... I have one 1024mb stick and one 256mg. Does 256mb somehow mess all up?

LOL. Bad idea. Newstyle RAM is designed to work in pairs, or otherwise known as 'Dual Channel Mode'. If you have one stick of fast RAM and one stick of slow RAM (eg. 400mhz vs 333mhz), your system will automatically throttle the RAM speed down to the slowest stick's maximum speed. This can cause OS instability.

I would highly reccomend removing the one 256mb stick and replacing it with another 1024MB stick (the clock speed MUST match!). If you cant afford another 1024mb stick than your system would likely benefit from losing the second (smaller) stick alltogether.

Also, you should look into updated chipset drivers for your system, as well as video drivers.

Using mismatch ram is VERY BAD. It's the main reason people get #132, using ram sticks that aren't similar enough. More isn't better unless it's identical. If you use more than one ram stick, it should be identical to it's partner in every respect, down to the manufacturing scale and timings, let alone the sizes and company providing them. There's the cause of your problem.

If you do get another stick to make it up to 2048 MB total, make sure that the timings and the clockspeeds, as well as the sizes, are identical.

Well... i was just about to take the 256MB to try if wow works, but now this happened. I tested last time if it might luckily launch and what happens. Bang it works just like there was no error. I will take the 256MB away today to see if my PC overall performance increases. I was like :lipsrsealed: when wow worked...

That's common with RAM issues, these kinds of problems can appear and disappear depending on which part of RAM Windows decides to put WoW in and whether that part has an issue. In the interests of future stability you should remove the smaller stick as you say.

Tunga has is completely right. Ram is unpredictable and unstable ram is hard to pin down, making it hard to diagnose using standrad Windows tools, as it usually looks just fine.

Problems will emerge with high memory intensive applications and games, such as WoW, which has happened here. At least it's a simple fix.
