I am using Pitbull Unit Frame (from wowace.com) for long. I usually raid 10 man instances a lot, so I have set up the Unit Frames for a little small frame for group 1 & group 2. They take up my left side of the screen and look some what beautiful to me as they are the same as normal ones but a little size reduced.

Recently, I have been doing some BGs and going for 25 man raid instances. When going for anything above 10 man, the unit frames clutter up the screen. The only option that I have seen in Pitbull is to set up unit frame style for raid ... not for 10 man or 25 man raid. Now, I have to set them up for every instance I do every time.

My problem is I need to set up unit frames differently for different occasions. Like when I am in 10 man raid, they should appear differently. And when I go above 10 they should look somewhat different as per my requirements.

- Anyone knows how to tweak this up in Pitbull?
- Can I use different unit frames for above 10 man raids (other then pitbull) and keep pitbull for 5 & 10 man instances. If possible, how?

I would love to be able to do that, so going to follow this thread.

The simplest option is just to create profiles (from within Pitbull options) and then switch between them. However this is a little fiddly and any non-raid changes to your bars you'd need to make to both profiles.

You could make a mod that watches for raid size and changes Pitbull settings but don't expect someone to code it for you.

you could try the mod GRID instead. They wont match your normal frames exactly (altho u can tweak em to be as close as possible, but you will find them more functional than pitbull for raid groups.

If you set the layout to the max size (45man) the turn of the background alpha they will look nice and automatically fill up in an ordered way as you join big and small groups.

Well Pitbull can fill up the bars however you like, I assumed that the issue is that in a ten-man raid the OP wants an entirely different layout of the bars than in a 25-man raid to make best use of the space.

I find Pitbull to be a lot "more functional for raids" than Grid so it's best not to make generalisations of opinion as fact about which mod is better. They're both good and it's really personal preference as to which you prefer.

I have coded a few mods, but not for public release, so I guess I can give this a try :ponder: and I will have to go through Pitbull code for that which is gonna be time consuming ... but lets see.

I am using GRID along side Pitbull. Actually, what I do now is, that I have set up group 1 & 2 of raids on left side with Grid in the bottom of it. And other groups lapping over each other in right corner of the screen.

If you set the layout to the max size (45man) the turn of the background alpha they will look nice and automatically fill up in an ordered way as you join big and small groups.

I don't see how this is gonna work. If you can show me a screen shot I might understand clearly (I think I am getting confused here).

Other suggestions welcome ... :listen:

Grid as default has a opaque background around all of the unit frames. Your problem was that depending on the size of raids u were in you had to reconfig your pitbull frames each time depending on size.
Basically by setting grid to display a 45man raid you will have a big empty box with 10 units in it (when running kara for example). However turn of the back ground and grid fills up evenly and un intrusivly depending on the size of your raid. In kara you will have 10 units and as you get to gruuls for example another 3 groups will just add themselves to the end of the frame
The reason i said grid was more functional is because it creates even, nicely laid out frames with tons of options to customize to your needs. It is very quick to configure and can be edited on the fly quickly. Admittedly my phrasing was bad, i did not mean to suggest that it was superior to pitbull, merely an alternative that i personally thought would help solve the problems described. sorry for any aggro Tunga

This is exactly my point. Being a Main Tank, I often need to keep eye out on many things. Pitbull helps that out in 10 man raid like Kara. But when going to Gurul, that same thing turns out to be mess.

You can disable Pitbull for Battlegrounds, but that won't help you in 25mans.

I'd suggest making the 10man setup the same as the 25/40man to make life a bit easier on yourself.

I made it work for 10/25 man and disabled it in AV. I really don't need to pay attention to 39 morons at once.

Basically by setting grid to display a 45man raid you will have a big empty box with 10 units in it (when running kara for example). However turn of the back ground and grid fills up evenly and un intrusivly depending on the size of your raid. In kara you will have 10 units and as you get to gruuls for example another 3 groups will just add themselves to the end of the frameSo the individual bars will resize to fit into an allocated area? Or the bars just get added and fill up the empty space as your raid gets bigger? The OP is trying to achieve something more like the former. The latter is what basically every unit frame addon does by default.
The reason i said grid was more functional is because it creates even, nicely laid out frames with tons of options to customize to your needs. It is very quick to configure and can be edited on the fly quickly. The options menu is nicer in Grid from what I remember, but they're both pretty much infinitely customisable.

Basically what we're looking for, if I've understood correctly, is dynamic raid member health bar resizing depending on the current raid size. I do't think anything like this exists  .

For total raid status ... I already use XRaidStatus. It is perfect to let me know how much stamina / health raid has, how many alive / dead / afk / online / offline.

Pitbull, besides many other things, the main advantage I see is which one of the players also has aggro on it. It turns them red. If its me and off tank, then its fine. If it's other then us, then I try to taunt that mob or do something to get that mob out of here.
