as you can tell by the title wow keeps on crashing. It freezes, doesn't necessarily have to have much going onin the game. But when it does, I can Alt-tab out, but the screen seems to enlarge and then I need to restart the comp. Any help would be great.

First thing to do is make sure all of your drivers are up to date. Do you get any kind of message when the crash happens?

I´m having the same problem here. The screen's resolution goes to 640x480 and 16 colors. If i kill the process of the game or close the game the screen goes back to usual configuration and i can open the game again. I was using rivatuner to monitor my gpu temperature, when the crash occured it was at 75º celsius. On nvidia and board configuration i noticed the threshold is way higher than that.

I have a pentium 6550 core2duo 2.34(x2), 1 gb ram dd3 800mhz, geforce 8800gt 512 ram 600/1800, asus p5kse motherboard. The OS is windows xp sp2.

Any ideas?

Firstly, try reinstalling the video driver and see if that helps. To reinstall the video driver follow these steps:

1. Click start menu
2. Click Control Panel
3. (ensure control panel is in 'Classic View' - option is at the left side of the window) Double-click 'System' icon
4. Click on the tab that says 'Hardware'
5. Click on the button that says 'Device Manager'
6. Find the heading 'Display Adapters', click the '+' beside the heading to expand the menu
7. Find your Video driver (will be labelled NVidea something something)
8. Right click on your video driver, click 'Uninstall'
9. Reboot your computer
10. Allow the system to automatically reinstall the video driver (You will see a bubble pop-up at the lower right side of your screen when you log back in, saying "Found new hardware")
11. Play the game again and see if the issue persists. If it does, post back here and let us know

have you guys tried blowing out the dust in your system? that happened to me once and i just took a can of DustOff and cleared out the insides of my computer. after that, no more problems. i dust out my rig once a month now. no problems recur as of yet.
