Hi im here because the WoW forums dont allow me to choose my character thus not letting me log in..
I have played WoW for quite some months already and i always experience TERRIBLY LOW fps in IF/SW like 1-3 fps.. and now im 62 at last in shattrath i am having totally like -19999999 to 1 fps..
When i land after having a ride from the flightmaster i would freeze there for at least 5 minutes or so before i can move STEP BY STEP slowly while freezing along the way which is totally (wtf).

I have spent 2 hours before in my life, walking from the Shattrath Flightmaster, to the inn and out of Shattrath city.. Just these 3 simple steps took me 2 hours.

So i am looking for an upgrade to my pathetic RAM/graphic card..

Firstly my computer specs are.

I did some research on the internet and found that i cant upgrade my graphic card as its in the motherboard of my laptop, Compaq Presario V2000.
I am wondering if i ever do upgrade my RAM, how much more does it improve my fps? im planning on getting 2gigs of RAM anyway.

Any help will be much appreciated thank you.

The ram should certainly help some but with a slow CPU and the current video card it may not be that much of a help. I assume you've lowered the video settings as much as possible?

others with a lot more knowledge will soon come and maybe they have another solution, but without an upgrade to your graphics card, or rather getting one to begin with (as you dont have one at all) I don't see any way to make real improvement. You can try turning down all the effects that you can through the main menu in the game, that should get you a hanful more fps.

had a friend with similar situation (could not upgrade due to integrated crap) he just bought a new computer for $500, and then a graphics card for $150.

Intel Intergrated is the worst that can possibly be used, thus you'll get bad frames per second from one. They're built for mass produced office machines, not 3D gaming, and certainly not WoW. Without replacing that (which you can't do) you won't notice much improvement. It'll get better, but by about twice as much at most, and that still won't be anywhere near comfortable.

Yeah it's really not worth the money upgrading that for gaming, your only real options is to buy a new machine.

Thanks for ur quick replies. I wont be getting a new machine till 2 months later when i enter "college" which requires a laptop. Well because my current laptop is 5 years old so my dad will buy me one but thats 2 months later..
I'll upgrade my RAM to 2gb for now and see if theres much difference in the gameplay.
