I recently got hacked and am in the process of recovering my account and regaining at least a fraction of my previous wealth, but I'm still worried. Even after recovering it, they hacker STILL knows the answer to my secret question (thats how he hacked me in the first place, i got key logged). So unless I change my secret question, he can just do it again. Blizzard hasn't addressed this, how can I change my secret question?

I'd be really interested if anyone knew an answer to this as well...this happened to my friend and he has been hacked by (presumably) the same person 4 times. After the last time, they emailed him a new password which he copied and pasted every time he logged in...to avoid keyloggers. He just got hacked again today and upon calling Blizzard was informed that someone had called to change the password only an hour earlier. He's able to do this because he has the answer to the secret question but Blizzard refuses to help him with this. Is there any way around it?

I believe this is something that can only be sorted out with a Blizzard representative. It would be a good idea to have every bit of personal information at the ready, including the key used to create the account. It isn't their usual policy to ask for account keys, but neither it is usual for the secret question to be comprimised.

I know you said a key logger got your secret question information, but what required you to type it in so that he could get it in the first place?

I haven't heard of an instance where the secret question has been changed sadly.

The hacker got my friend's email password and had the secret question answer emailed there. Apparently the people at Blizzard absolutely refuse to help him change it so the only option he has to prevent getting hacked yet again is to purchase yet another copy of WoW and TBC and pay for a character transfer.

The hacker got my friend's email password and had the secret question answer emailed there. Is this possible? Seems to defeat the point of a secret question.

Sorry for the late response. You're right, it wasn't emailed to him. The secret question was his father's middle name and his father's paypal information happened to be on my friend's computer. The hacker was able to gain access to the answer my gaining access to that information.
