Anyone know of some free software that i can use to put dvds from the DVD to my hard drive? i cant find any

aweosme ill try those. i was kinda expecting to get flamed cuz arent dvd ripping softwares illegal? or close?

It more depends on what you use it for.
There is nothing morally wrong with making a backup of your own DVD's. Legally it is frowned upon, but afaik, no one has ever gotten in trouble for it.
Copying movies that you rent, is a no-no, but not really a big issue to the studios.
Copying movies and distributing them online, or selling the copies for money are HUGE no-no's and expect to get in real trouble if caught doing it.

Ahh that makes sense. so i downloaded ripit4me and it asked me to download a dvd decrypter...anything special i should do or just google and download one

It should link it in options, you need it and DVD shrink. Don't worry, you don't have to run them seperately. It kinda wraps and uses both programs to decode and shrink just about any movie.

I clicked it but it didnt come up with the site, but i just googled it and got it. and now it seems to be working, thanks so much! ive been trying to do this for days haha. so now what should i do if i want to put it on my ipod...?

Don't have one but I would assume you would have to convert it to a video file, like DivX, Mpeg, etc.

K so anyone know of some free software to convert IFOs to MPEG-4s?
DVDFabDecrypter (Free) may do it or you may need the Pro (paid) version.

Why don't you just take the VOB files and put them on your desktop. You can actually play those directly.
