View Full Version : Are all alliance spineless?

Actually, you can tell me if Horde are the same. All weekend there were level 70s camped out in lowbie zones killing grey noobs. Now, I know WHY they fear high level zones - I'm a 35 prot pally and got a 70 mage down to about 60% hp - I just don't know WHY they do it. I'll kill a grey if I see one, but to stay there all day? The 70 mage hiding behind some rocks outside Hammerfall has to be the worst - he can't even have the excuse that he was passing through, that place is in the corner of nowhere.

Alls I can say is that when I'm 70 I'll spend at least 20% of my time patrolling and putting some cold steel in these fools! Me and my gf got jumped by one red while questing and the next thing I know his hp goes 50%, 20% dead - a 70 rogues was passing by

Yes, Horde does the same thing. It's not faction specific. It's war, If its red its dead. I don't camp but I don't pass an opportunity to take out a member of the opposing faction, regardless of level.

Actually, while leveling an alt, I'm finding world PvP to be a lot less then it used to be. Pre-BC it was really bad because everyone was bored with being 60 and tired of raiding. Now that the Outlands offers more stuff to keep them occupied, world PvP has eased up a bit.

If you take any 10 human beings they are the same. This applies to WoW as well, it is not horde or alliance specific. You will get nubs, l33ts, guildies, campers, gankers, solo'rs, whatever. It is just a defense mechanism and a way of justifying behavior (good or bad) to label people. "Well I got camped because people who play horde are a%$holes"

What goes around, comes around.

Be sure you return the favor at any opportunity.

Outlands leveling is more annoying, however; you get those 70's just "passing by" in Hellfire Peninsula, sneak up behind you (but above on their flying mount), especially wherever your camera view is likely NOT pointed to, and hit you quickly and decisively then just "fly away" as though nothing happened.

THAT is annoying! But it will be good to return the favor.

Being anonymous while you pick on people 1/2 your size and perform the internet version of bullying someone by putting people in a trash can gives great joy to some people.

Thats the truth.

Abusing people/objects/animals permeates every facet of life.

Roll PvE...

Wasn't complaining - PvE is sooo boring. Actually, only complaint I've made here about this was going about 20 level BEFORE I got ganked. My question was mostly about the guy at Hammerfall - that's a looooooong way to go to kill greys for no reward. I'll kill a passing toon, and I charged about a dozen people who were ?? over the weekend, but to travel for about 30 irl minutes to camp greys? That's weak, maybe even wierd.

until I see proof to the contrary this is the worst PvPer in history - camping greys and taking about 15% damage from a 35 prot pally with adds and a dead gf :)

i dont hunt folks gray to me, usually.
and i'll fight those green-orange to me if i feel like it. i usually do!
as for camping a lower level city area like Hammerfall, i would if i had the time and felt like it, or had a group willing to go and raid it. that's the fun of this game. heck, i get annoyed too when i see menithil, southshore, refuge pointe, darkshire, and astranaar camped. but its all fair and i either help out those defending it or avoid the city altogether. what else? when they're on the boat killing. its all good since its part of the game. meds, dont worry man, you'll get your payback soon. im in my mid 40s and i've gotten payback many times already.

There are people who are like that. I got a rl "friend" that camped noobs in silvermoon valley for 2 hours straight, hes 14 and he finds it fun.

Hammerfall is right next to the Horde entrance to AB and the PvP vendors are there. There is actually a fair amount of traffic there.

That staff is for 70's, unless there's a same skinned staff for lower levels.

I disagree, grudge and revenge ganking is some of the more rewarding ganking IMO. Have you ever written down a name of a person that gave you troubles as you leveled, then found them later on once you leveled up and you're now on an even playing field, and you destroy them, then camp them . . . ahhh man that's a good feeling. Or what about when you get ganked on a lowbie by a group of the other faction only to grab your main, come back and kill all 5 of them. Yeah, that's good shizz.

i was in tanaris kinda sharing an area with a hordie hunter last night. we were there for about 15 minutes with no problems, waiting for thieves and bandits to respawn. i can tell he wasnt all that great of a hunter since he kept using his icetraps that broke a second later, kept gaining aggro from the mob, and never took off his aspect of the pack/cheetah. i left him alone though, and even though it would have been an even matchup since we were both same level, i was just there to kill my last bandit and turn in my quests. lo and behond some ?? mage comes by and kills me, and the hunter hordie just keeps killing his mobs. i rez in sight of the hunter and get killed again a second time by the mage. it seems that the mage had to run back from wherever he was, so im guessing they were talking to each other. anyway, RAULL, if i ever see you, imma kill you. but anyway... thats just what goes on in PvP servers. sometimes there's truce, other times theres killing. heck, i'd love to meet the guys that used to gank me back in the days and kill them. its the spirit of PvP.

If you are on the RECEIVING end of ganking 10x more than the latter, when is it not appropriate to return the favor?

I don't go out of my way to gank someone, but if I ride up on someone, I will do everything I can to interrupt their game session just as they CONSISTENTLY do to me.

I admit that does sound fun but quite honestly I do not hold a grudge ever, I can't tell you anyones name who ganked or camped me. The only time that anything like this ever happens is when I see a lowbie get ganked and I then go and gank the ganker (if possible).

I *LOVE* doing this as well, if I see it. Even if I can't save the one being ganked, I can avenge him/her nonetheless. :wink2:

I kept a list for awhile, then I figured what's the point? Just keep playing, and kill when necessary.

I'm not petty but I play in my home office, so there's always a pen and paper to hand. I have no problem adding the occasional name to the list just for the wry smile if you get to kill one of them later :)

I kinda love by the rule. Whenever theres an ally waving to me I assume he just ganked a horde around the cornor. So I avenge him. I think about 30% of the time, I ress a fellow horde just around the cornor that had just been ganked.

I dont camp areas, thats just annoying, but a grey kill a day keeps the gankers away.

I was the one doing the ganking last night in Foothills on my GFs loc, but to be fair most of them were even con and/or grouped. Was a blast, only went there to get her some herbs :D

No honor gained or lost.

Just an annoyance when you're the gray because there is ABSOLUTELY nothing you can do about it. The ones that truly piss me off are the ones that mind control you for a while.... then kill you. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Ganking is old... The trick these days is to attack the lowbie when they're in the middle of a fight and let the mob they've got agro on finish them off. They get killed _and_ lose durability on their gear.

(And no, I don't condone this action... I just see it happen quite often)
