Heya all,
So we all can't wait for TLK to be released, Im just wondering if there has been given any release day for it yet?
Ive been looking around,
Play.Com - Say 30th May 2008
Amazon.Co.Uk - Say 30th September 2008
Im sure amazon was may before and now it's been changed to september?
Anyone have any more info on this?

all of those dates are guesses. Nothing official has been announced. Product sites that are selling the expansion need to put something into the database in order for it to be accepted by their commerce system.

Personally I'm not at all anxious to see WoTLK released anytime soon :) but I reackon it'll be closer to september than may.
"When it is done"
PTR for sunwell is up. Release of 2.4 expected "somewhat in March". Wareffort needed to build the rep and city, raiding 25 man content etc..etc...
Sounds like WotLK is at least 6 months away. (We know about one hero class, one NPC race and like three new areas in Northrend...isn't really THAT much)

At least six months away imo also. I work in the video game industry and generally get a feel or idea of when things may or may not be coming out. I'm not always right of course, however it is definitely looking at being towards the end of the year.
They are going to take their time, as Blizzard always do. And with 2.4 scheduled for release soon anyway I wouldn't want WOTLK out in 2-3 months. Still plenty of content and alts for me to work through

It would not surprise me to see this fall in early 2009.
People forget how long it was between the beta beginning for TBC and TBC's actual release.
It was 15 months between the anouncement and release anyhow.....

Six months at the VERY EARLIEST, and that's pretty fast for Blizzard. Usually 14 months to two years from when they announce the game to when they actually release it is normal. Burning Crusade was 15 months, October of 05 to January of 07 so my guess is MAYBE Holiday season of 08, but we still have SCII to consider, I doubt they'll release both at the same time, I could be wrong.
Edit: May of this year is WAAAAAAY to early, given that they still have 2.4 out there, and there's probably going to be at least 1 more patch, and that's the "preperation" patch, like 2.0 was, also beta to consider as well. And blizzard learned with Naxxy that they released naxxy and didn't really give everyone a chance to do it. Pretty much you had to have your tier 2.5 (AQ20 and 40 gear) in order to have a good shot at getting through Naxxy before TBC hit.

You think their policies are going to change, and actually cause them to wait that long?
Or, maybe you and I define done differently....I define it as "relatively bug free".....

"when it is done", as defined by Blizzard. Which is, they will release it when they are ready to release it, and not before. The lessons learned from the initial WoW launch and the TBC launch shows that Blizzard knows when that is far better than Vivendi does. TBC was far smoother, and well-executed than the initial WoW launch ever hoped to be.
Your definition, or my definition of what "done" means is irrelevant. What Blizzard decides to consider done, is what is relevant.

Since TBC was one of the most bug free releases in the industry I seriously question what you mean by "relatively" since IMHO the TBC release met that qualification.
Since "Relatively" implies relative to the industry standard or norm I would say your statement regarding Blizzard's policies was WAY off base. Blizzard releases things bug free relative to the rest of the industry. They seem to be the only company out there who does.

Anyone who would think WotLK would be out in May definitely will be in for a disappointment. Even September is being optimistic but November/December would make more sense.

Think of it this way:
1) They stated at Blizzcon that they didn't want to repeat the Naxx mistake of releasing a great endgame instance too close to an expansion since virtually no one will ever see the instance.
2) They are releasing Sunwell (and MT, the 5 man) in 2.4.
3) There's no 2.5 that's every been mentioned by Blizzard whereas even back in 2.1 we knew that there would be a 2.4
4) There's no LK beta out, but they can use the beta to stave off defections to Warhammer etc.
I'd bet that 2.4 will have about 3 months until the LK beta starts.
If the beta runs 3-6 months that puts LK 6-9 months from 2.4. Call 2.4 April 1 and that puts LK in the Sept-Dec timeframe, maybe a bit later for shipping/production reasons.
