You can't rely on ambush, especially in 39 twink margin.
Ambush and backstabs are only good in the 19 and 29 margin, in 39, it's all about taking hits.
Most, if not all twinks have their weps enchanted with 2H enchants, thats Hunters with +25 AGI, Warriors with dual crusaders, and rogues..... well, they're just insane.
Since you're a rogue, you're most likely going to get a beating from
a) another rogue
b) warrior
c) hunters
Hunters use there pets, and get REALLY annouying, which is why you need stamina so you don't die before you sprint to them.
Warriors intercept, throw a massive crit, and by then you're hamstringed and stuffed.
Other rogues just cheap shot and the stunlock begins.
All the situations require more stamina, unlike in 19 BG's, where an ambush one hits a mage.

okay. A few things. First off, daggers are utility in this bracket. Their damage output doesn't really come close to a hemo sword rogue. I figured you should probably know that before you invest a lot of money. Don't get me wrong. Ambush spec is useful. But the sustained damage is lacking. Onto the gear.
1) You can't put a heavy knothide armor kit on your fleshhide shoulders. The armor kit requires a level 60 item or above.
2) If you're going for all-out AP, quillward harness is a better option than the wolffear harness. If you're going for a mix of stats, a warden's wraps with +6 to all stats (or +150 to health) is a better option than the wolffear harness.
3) Speed enchants do not stack with the inherent bonus given by the defiler's boots. Because of this cat's swiftness and boar's speed are wasted. Go for either surefooted or dexterity (+12 ag). I'd say that the agility option is better for an AP rogue because your chance to hit isn't all that important when all your damage is front-loaded.
4) +24 AP is a solid enchant for your gloves. You might also consider +15 agility, though. You only lose 9 AP, but you gain more than 1% crit, more than 2% dodge, and 24 armor.
5) I personally like the legionnaire's band over the assault band. Assault bands are good for hunters. But with the legionnaire's band, you only lose 4 AP, but you gain 8 agility for crit and dodge purposes.
6) Coldrage dagger is awful. I've tried them. Believe me. They NEVER proc. Go with a fast offhand weapon that will give you stats. Speedsteal rapier is a solid choice in my opinion. Or, if you really want to go all out AP, vanquisher's sword works if you don't mind carrying around a bulky 2.2 AS offhand weapon.
7) You cannot get the executioner enchant in this bracket. It requires a level 60 item. Furthermore, for ambush rogues, 2 +20 agi enchants are superior even to mongoose. But, if you must have a sparkling weapon, put it in your main hand...and keep +20 agi in your offhand.
As an ambush rogue, your spec options aren't that varied. You can go 16/0/14 for maximum damage. Or you can go 8/0/22 for more utility. You will have your foes. You will lose to any hemo rogue you go up against because they will not only have heightened senses, but their sustained damage is better. You should be combat rogues since you'll have master of Deception. But, if you don't get the jump on them, you'll lose very quickly. You'll lose against warriors and good paladins. Hunters shouldn't be a problem, though. If there's any advice I can give a rogue going into this bracket it is to always have cripplign poison on both weapons. It'll make your job so much simpler. generally speaking, you'll die to anyone with decent armor...and you'll make quick work of anyone wearing cloth or leather.
