View Full Version : Stupid Mistake....

So last night our guild went into Kara it was uneventful until the end. Got off to a late start cause our guild is finally fielding 2 Kara groups and we were dividing the squads.

Took down Huntsman, Moroes and Maiden. Usually for Maiden there is only one tank in the group since we use 2 to clear for safety and then swap one out for a dps but last night there was no one to swap out with me. I put on my crappy dps gear and we went at it.

Upon downing Maiden two tanking items dropped. The necklace and the gauntlets. By this time my wife was on my case and everyone was in a hurry. I had swapped out my tier 4 gloves and forgot to re-equip them so as the decisions were being made (and I was fighting with my wife) they inspected me and saw the felsteel gloves... Long story short they gave me the gauntlets...

As I searched in my inventory a knot started to form in stomach. I felt terrible. The other tank is great kid; very mature and respectful. After so many years playing MMO's I made a rookie mistake. I apologized to him and the raid for my stupidity and we all ended up laughing it off but still I don't feel right about it.

I submitted a GM ticket explaining the situation. I've read about GM's correcting item issues. Would this be something they could assist me with? Would they remove the item from my inventory and give it to its rightful owner? If not how could I make it up to him? I was thinking I'd at least send him a void crystal but would that be enough?

Sorry about the long-winded post. I wanted to let it out and get your feedback since I was barely able to sleep last night and am looking for ways to correct this situation.
And here is an after-video:

I think it's something that you shouldn't worry about, at the end of the day they gave you the gloves and the lad didn't say anything so just let it go.

If you wish to clear your conscience simply run kara with him more until he gets his gloves =]

Wow those guys are tricky! Seemed like a real post to me.

They must have cut and paste a post on another forum that got a lot of hits.

We've had similar real threads here as well, posing the same question. Don't recall if it was KZ or not, but the general idea of loot being wrongly attributed was there as well. GMs can fix this, but it will cost you one of the three item restores that each person gets when they make their account, iirc.

I didn't click the link. Just out of interest, what 'happens' when you click one of these 'phishing' links... :S

Well surely theres a way of getting rid of it?

I think they normally bypass most antivirus software but a scan with spyware stuff can reveal them and stop them.

That;s the best attempt I'd seen actually - although why would a post like that need a video?
