Hey I have my flight form for my druid and am on the last quest in that chain. That involves going into Heroic Sethekk Halls and killing the Raven God. I have never been to a heroic dungeon and really have no desire to raid or do heroics. I like instaed taking other characters and reaching max level. So here is my question. Is that Heroic really hard and could I go as a non heroic type geared druid just to get my form or do I need to go heroic dungeon hopping and get the proper gear?

Any imput would be appreciated.

sethek halls is one of the nastier heroics IMO.

do you have a guild which can just drag you through it ? or would you need to find a pickupgroup ?

You need a decent tank and a healer. DPS is not such a huge issue although obviously it helps. What spec are you?

I am feral specced druid with both tank and dps gear I have saved.

and my guild has a lot under 60ish.

If you're planning on tanking it I would say you should aim for 410 defense, at least 20k armour and 12k health. It's also almost essential to have a druid healer for the Raven God fight as you need to maintain HoT's on the three statues during the fight, which obviously you can't really do if you're tanking.

If your gear is up to the tanking part and you can get a good resto druid to heal then you should be able to pick up some PUG dps and be good to go.

Like Morollan said, you need a good tank and healer. You must have a druid in party to use lvl 1 rejuv to active the stone in the Anzu fight. You don't need a druid healer in this instance. But you'll need a feral druid to offtank the guard because they are a pain and hit really hard.


First boss:

This boss is a pain if not done right. Hit boss until add spawn. When the adds spawn ALL DPS should concentrate on killing the adds ASAP. Once all adds are dead let the healer have most of the player heal up before you continue hitting boss. The boss does not hit hard. But the add are the one that are painful. On the 3rd add spawn just unleash everything you have on the boss and don't worry about the add. If you have a war as tank, tell them to fear the last group of add when they spawn.


Second boss:

Same as the regular instance. But in heroic the boss will sheep 1 of the player. Try to fight it by using the pillar strategy or the door strategy. Which ever one you feel the group is better at. I say the door strategy is better because is easier for the tank to get back aggro.


Final boss - Anzu:

You can say this fight is easy or is hard. The group should stay not farm from the "eagle stone statue". There are 3 statue. You don't need to have all 3 activated. But you MUST HAVE "Eagle" activated when the adds come out. The druid will do nothing but active the stone. The others just dps the boss like crazy and when add come out just kill them fast. This is going to be an endurance fight because this fight will last about 5 min or more (forgot haven't been there for too long).

If done correctly this is one of the easiest heroic instance you'll do. And good luck on the mount. Anzu drop an epic land mount that look just like Anzu. Been there about 30+ and only seeing it drop once. Which I didn't win the roll. :cry:

If you insist on 'signing' your posts, which is unnecessary as we can see your name to the left of each post anyway, then it is traditional to at least sign at the end of the post rather than the middle.

New Life...I just completed this and here is my advice. Anzu is really really easy....if you keep putting regrowth on the spirits and wear your heal gear....all you'll have to do is: (a) refresh rank 1 regrowth on spirits (you'll get stunned) (b) add a few lifebloom/rejuv to the tank as your group essentially 4mans Anzu, (c) innervate the healer and (d) occasionally remove curse. If you are feeling cocky, go ahead and hurricane the bird waves. Dance occaisonally too, as he really is an easy boss.

And you can do Anzu without having to do Ikiss..Anzu comes first.

I'm curious too, as my druid just hit 70, and is still in greens. I have done most heroics on my main, but I don't remember if I ever did Sethekk. It sounds like the Anzu fight itself shouldn't be a problem, as I can go on statue duty, and let the group do the work, but I'm wondering if the way there will be too annoying for the others with my low dps. I'd like to know how it goes in a less epic group.

Just remember to pull the mobs that fear far far back to be safe. Nothing is more deadly than fearing mobs in heroics.

In that case, do the rest of the instance with your main and just bring the druid in for the Anzu fight.

Actually, Anzu is really easy. We got a server first on him, with a group in blues, on the day when that patch dropped- really not worth fretting about. Heck, with a moderately strong group, you don't even need someone on "statue duty".

Reading about the fight made it seem a lot scarier than it actually is.

Just remember to pull the mobs that fear far far back to be safe. Nothing is more deadly than fearing mobs in heroics.

I don't know.. a mind-controlled warlock dropping a howl of terror and then a rain of fire probably pips it. Oh, and ever seen a mind-controlled tier 6 enhancement shaman bearing down on a clothie, with a murderous gleam in her eye? :-)

Did you do the fight 'properly' or did you pull him back to the previous room, away from the adds? Before they fixed that Anzu was the easiest Badge of Justice you could ever wish for. :grin:

We are running this tonight for a friend who needs their epic flight form.

Our group is going to be 70 Druid Tank in mix epic/blue/green items, full epicced thunder chicken, full epicced resto druid, full epicced dps warrior and 80% epicced BM hunter.

This is the first time I am running this heroic. I am the hunter/trapper. Any suggestions or advice on this?

Also there are some very nice cloth healing bracers in there that are second only to the very hard to get bracers from the maiden... both are probably going to be > than hydross's drop come 2.4

Didn't have much trouble with the guards.

Double Oracle packs with no crowd control, on other hand...
