View Full Version : Level 70...Now What?

This is in no way a bash of WoW or the end game. This is actually a concern I have.
Ever since I hit 70 I have had that feeling of now what. At the moment my main (Belf Hunter) does the occasional instance to help friends, raids when I can make the scheduled raid and PvPs ever now and then when I can do premades with my friends.
But I feel lost at the moment. I am not even sure where to go for what rep. I know there are dailies out there, but I dont know where to find them. I have asked a couple friends and they said they would help show me and then we usually get pulled off to another task and I dont bother to ask them again.
Between this and the recent break up of the guild I was in I am a bit lost. I log in as my main, look around and end up logging into my alt shammy who is now level 31.
I know many folks who have gotten this feeling and end up leaving but I enjoy the game so much I am just trying to figure out what the next step is.

A few suggestions.
1. Level your professions to 375
2. Farm gold for epic mount
3. Check out the badge/PVP gear and make it a goal to get a set you really like.
I'v done 1 and 3. So now I'm working on number 2. But I do find myself spending more time on my alts now.

I know there are dailies out there, but I dont know where to find them.
There are dailies at Skettis, Ogri'la and Netherwing ledge. The latter two require you to do some prequests (in Shadowmoon and Blades Edge) - if you google (for instance) Netherwing rep guide you'll find a complete "how to" on these (I won't link here because I'm not sure which sites are allowed).
You can pick up a daily BG quest and a daily cooking quest in Shattrath, Lower City.
If you still have quests in your log, do them - they pay decent gold at 70!
Have a look at the heroic rewards - farm heroics for badges.

This pretty much sums up what lvl 70 is all about. Gearing up is usually the main priority of any lvl 70, whether it be by pvp or pve. Pvp and pve aren't mutually exclusive but you will do better if you focus on one.
If pvp is your thing then jump into the AV honour grind and get yourself into some arena teams. If you are more PvE minded then start building rep to get your heroic keys and start gearing up that way. It helps if you check to see what items are available to you as rep rewards and drops, then target the places that benefit you the most. Joining a guild of like minded people is highly recommended to help with these.
Making money is a big part of being level 70. You should do the ogr'la, skyguard and netherwing pre-quests so you can then go on and do the relevant dailies as this will net you a regular income. Also try and find out if you have any ways of making money through your professions. If not find out what you have to do to start making money.
You have to set yourself some goals otherwise you will just end up wandering around aimlessly.

You are so right about that! Before the guild break up I would log on and ask if there were any instance runs going. If nothing I would offer alts run throughs of the instances of there choosing and then if there were still no takers it was off to alt land.

I am a Potions Master/Herbalist who is at 375 with both. I need to farm mats to make money but that has been so boring since I have ghetto flight speed atm.

One of our group need to finish some quests in Bladesedge and we all went to do them and it ended up being the quests that opened Ogri'la. So I guess I will look at these tonight.
Thanks folks!
I recently leveled my hunter to 70 and now I hardly ever play him. He sits in Thunderbluff checking the AH for deals. I've been trying to find a guild with higher level players but it's difficult on my server. The best guilds seem to be very hardcore and the casual guilds don't have many players.
If there a guide to things like getting keys for raids or good PVP sets to work towards?
I did some of the daily quests and PVP a little but it was just boring.
I'm in the process leveling a warlock now (@ 59 right now).

Go do the heroic dailies. They can be quite fun. Make sure you gear up first though.

Time to reroll, I'd say. Get another toon to 70 before WotLK comes out, and you'll be ready to kick butt. Plus, if you leave your toon alone for awhile, you'll have some great rest exp when the expansion comes out.

Sorry for bubble bursting but Blizz said no rested bonus for WoLK (rested starts when you install Wrath)

Did you rush to 70 on your main? Lot of people do this then roll an alt to explore and enjoy the content on the way up. I always take my time levelling, it will all still be there when you get to 70 :)

Well, you've hit 70- now the game actually begins- be it PvE or PvP. Decide what you want to do, and go for it. Don't be too shocked if things get harder, start to require planning, preparation and a little skill.
A lot of folks get scared at having to actually think or decide, and scurry back and level a zillion alts before doing anything too interesting at 70. However, this would be a shame, as you're missing out on the fun of those moments of level-cap triumph, last man standing at the end of a 40 minute arena match, or seeing Illidan crash to his knees for the first time. This stuff is fun- but you do have to be mentally prepared for a lot of faffing to get to that point, it involves making plans, theorycrafting, practising and also playing with the right people (often overlooked). Now, just as before TBC- the game actually begins at the level cap.
Sure, you'll be discombobulated at first.. You need to get your bearings and work out what you want. Things were easy when levelling, as you had an aim handed to you on a plate- to level. Levelling has been made laughably easy- like a horribly extended tutorial.
The tutorial is over now. You don't need to follow the trail of breadcrumbs. This is the point where you start playing for yourself. Take the plunge and enjoy it.

same as it was in BC... and it makes sence. everyone is lvl 70 by now, so basicaly that would mean that everyone would start with 1.5 levels of resting bonus. they dont want us to burn trough the new contend in such a hurry, or do they ?

I think one of the hardest things I have had to deal with with this is that my friends have all been 70 for awhile now. They have done Kara a million times and they are ready to move to the next level. Me hitting 70 was great because they were able to show me so much, but now they are back to working on the next level 70s. So I have made the following decisions.
I am doing at least a handful of dailies every day. The money and rep is helping on my way to getting my epic mount. Then I spend some time on my alt. My friends have level 44 alts and mine is 31. I am out leveling them at the moment so I should catch up to them soon and we will now be able to level these up to 70 together.
On a side not, I decided that I want the Cenarion Expedition epic mount. If I remember correcting I am revered or just about to hit revered with them. Can anyone tell me if there are dalies I can do for them to get to exalted? Thanks!

Buy armaments on the AH or just do SV over and over.

My main issue when I hit lvl 70 with my alts is that I have to redo the rep quests (aldor/scryers) to get the great rewards. Although since power leveling my LWing with my Rogue I have began to learn the recipes for dps and the Clefhoof blue's off the Consortium guys (I think). BOE items too, now that helps a lot when my druid comes up the lines.
Any way, as many said gear up. Don't worry about your epic flyer yet. Get your gear via BG's (easier way to get gear (great gear)) or farm mats for them. Do your self a favor and search for the items you want that are obtainable through a crafter by using digger or whatever website. Create a list of things to obtain and figure out the easiest way to do it.
I have done the farming thing with my main Lock and it is tiring as hell. This of course was to farm mats for my FWS set and the spellstrike stuff. Took a long time.
My Rogue has done a lot of PvP in BG's and got most of his gear through that, though I have done some farming for rep with the consortium guys.
I think both take the same time, but once you find the style you like, it's easier.
