View Full Version : Enchanting @ 70 - Drop mining or skinning?
I have my mining and skinning maxed out. I have about 3200G and I was wondering if I should continue skinning and mining for cash or just start DE'ing stuff from instances and the AH. Never done enchanting so I'm pretty much lost.

Get enough to get your epic mount+whatever you want then drop skinning in favour of mining+chanting I would personally go alchemy.

I'm a lvl 375 Enchanter. Believe me when I say the only reasons to get enchanting for you would be:
1) Nobody else in your guild is an enchanter (or you prefer not to be in a guild).
2) The enchanter-only buffs (ie the ring enchants) are the optimum item enchants for you.
Enchanting WILL NOT make you money or magically turn you into an imba kick-ass player. IMO don't bother, just buy the enchants you want from others when you need them.
What I wanted to do was pick up enchanting to DIS-enchant items to sell the mats on the AH. My plan was to buy greens and blues, disenchant and sell the mats. Also run instances for items to disenchant.

yeah but some times the items you will buy from the AH cost more then the disenchanted items.

Disenchanting can make you money if you are AH savvy and really know your stuff. It is frustrating selling all the loot you get but you will make more money doing that and selling your skinned and mined stuff. An idea for you for interests sake though would be to take engineering and keep your mining. Its a lot of fun and great for hunters!
Thanks for the info. I'll look into that.

If you want to make money, keep your current profs and sell the ores and the skins. Selling enchanting mats can make you money, but not nearly as consistently and profitably as selling the raw materials from mining and skinning.
Don't take this the wrong way, but you sound like you believe you've come up with this brilliant idea that you can find loads of cheap greens and make a fortune. Forget it. You and a zillion other enchanters are trying to do the same thing. Go right now and look at the prices for greens and the prices for enchanting mats. I guarantee that unless your server is a complete aberration, the greens are selling for virtually the same price as their DE value, or more. There will be the odd bargain, sure, but it will be the rare exception and not a way to make gold.
