I just rolled a new undead rogue, and instead of the skelton horse I wanted to get a raptor. I've been looking on wiki's and other forums for a couple of days now, but I can't find the one thing I'm looking for:

How many stacks of mageweave would I need to turn in to get to exalted status with the darkspear trolls?

Thanks for any help.

you dont after handing in mageweave you have to hand in runecloth, thats what you need before you start doing that though go here (http://wowdigger.com/faction/view/530/darkspear-trolls) and do all these quests each one will get you rep with the Trolls.

You can't get exalted by level 40 with the turn-in quests, simply because the last (and repeatable) quest of the chain, the Runecloth, is only doable at level 50.

If you do all the quests lothaer linked to, you'll be good on your way and might even be close to exalted by level 40.

Also you may not know but doing quests that doing quests that gives rep with 1 of the main Horde/Alliance factions also gives about 1% of that rep with the other Horde/Alliance factions.

Hmmm..honestly I think Darkspear Trolls don't have enough quests to get you exhalted by 40, kinda like gnomes for Alliance. At least they have an Instance for rep IIRC....

The Lunar festival really helps a lot in this regard.

It's 25% of the main faction rep.

Do quests related to the faction, starting right out in their newbie zone. I got a Draenei hunter to Exalted with Darnassus, Stormwind, AND Ironforge by level 40 just doing quests.

The 25% bonus to other factions' rep doesn't kick in until you start doing quests in the zones after the first and second newbie zones (ie. the 1-5 and 5-10 newbie zones just give straight faction; once you get into the 10-20 zones, then you start seeing the 25% rep to other factions).

I don't know if Wowhead is a site I can safely link to.. but they have a very neat Link Nuked, signed Valas of all the quests that grant you specific rep for a certain faction - in the case of this link for the Darkspear Trolls. You can sort by levels, by amount of rep, anything, and focus on the biggest rep giving quests first.. I used the Exodar version of this page to finally get my Dwarf her Elekk.

pff... Im raiding gruul and ain't exalted with ANY faction, not even exodar.

Reputation was going well until level 40, but after that I was mainly question in zones that weren't giving me reputation for one of the playable factions. I must say, I was a bit dissapointed, but never wanted to bother grinding rep. Im not doing that in Outlands either, which means I'm not even revered with one of those factions. My goal was to catch up with my brother and raid with him: which means, reaching level 70 and gearing up. Grinding for levels and reputation was (and is still) VERY low on my priority list.

Although I find it a pitty and would've liked to ride other mounts etc, I just don't seem to bother enough.

If you re-rolled since TBC, real easy to get exalted with alliance. Without trying hard, my shammy was exalted with SW by 43 to get his horse (lol draenei on a horse)

For Exodar, the quests in the starter area will get one at least half way through revered. Questing Elwynn and Westfall will prolly top it. Exalted at level 25.

From my experience, Draenei gain a ton of faction from their starting area alone. I've played 3 Draenei up to 20+. I think they also start out friendly with all the other factions too.

To the OP, raptors are hard to get with anything but a Troll due to the fact that there are fewer Darkspear quests than any other faction. I can't remember if Undead start out friendly with them or not. If not, I'd say it will be near impossible to get one by 40.

I got my Blood Elf an Undead mount by 42. It took starting friendly with Undercity and doing every single Undercity rep quest available and bleed over from other faction.

Actually, as you can see, I'm NOT Exalted with Exodar.

Draenei do not start out with any faction bonuses or any higher faction than other races in the Alliance. All Alliance start out friendly with one another. It's only on the Horde side where there are differences in starting reputation, with Blood Elves and Undead starting out neutral with the other factions.

Even though Blood Elves start out at friendly with Undercity, they will not even come close to revered with them by the time they leave the starting area like Draenei do. I'm slightly ignorant to Alliance, Draenei is what I've played most since the reputation gain change, but it may be that all Alliance have easier time gaining faction through quests versus Horde.

That's because the blood elf secondary zone, Ghostlands, splits its reputation fairly evenly with Blood Elves and Tranquillien, with some small amount of rep going to Undercity. Any of the Tranquillien quests (ones that give rep ONLY to Tranquillien) do not give the sympathetic rep to the other Horde factions. I used to think that the Tranquillien rep of that zone was pretty cool, what with being able to earn reputation rewards and all, but for these purposes I don't think it is.

When I had the idea that my 70 orc might want to get Exalted with the blood elves, I sat down with the quest lists and did the math, and determined that it would be very, very difficult to get exalted with the blood elves without resorting to the level 50 runecloth turn-in quests. Because these quests shut off nearly entirely after Ghostlands, with just a few scattered quests in other areas (there are blood elf quest givers in places like Grom'gol, Stonard, Kargath, etc., that give one or two quests each), it's just not built for the pre-40 run.

Each of the other pre-BC factions are possible to do prior to 40, but one thing that doing this three-faction run to 40 taught me is that different factions are easier than others just because of what's available. The key to building the other factions is by stacking sympathetic reputation -- the 25% reputation you start getting for doing another faction's quests starting in the level 10-20 zones and higher. An Orgrimmar quest that gives 200 Orgrimmar rep from these places will generally give 50 faction for each of the other Horde factions (troll, Tauren, undead, and blood elf). By concentrating on the faction that is easiest first, you build the most sympathetic reputation toward the more challenging factions.

For example, I started with Darnassus, and got Exalted with them just after dinging level 32. Then I went back and did Stormwind, which I got just after dinging 35. Had I to do it over, I would have done Stormwind first, as this has about 25% more quests than Darnassus on average. Ironforge is the third in terms of ease for getting player rep, so while it took me three levels to get my second faction, it took another five to get Exalted with Ironforge.

I'm not bothering to get Exalted with either Draenei or gnomes, since (a) I don't want an elephant and (b) I can't ride a chicken. However, I'm really not sure, looking at what is available, whether it's even possible to become Exalted with either of these prior to level 40, especially without a good base of sympathetic rep to build from. The fact that my hunter is over halfway through Revered with the gnomes is not based entirely on sympathetic reputation. Nearly all the quests in Dun Morogh give both dwarf and gnome faction; approximately 1/3 of all quests (about 150 in game) that specifically give gnome faction are shot by completing all the quests in Dun Morogh. There are also several gnome quests I had to complete in Stonetalon to get to the end of the chain, which gave me a couple of Darnassus quests, so I also completed those. So by working Ironforge faction in this newbie area, I completed about a third of all possible gnome specific quests, and finished another 10 in Stonetalon, and would still need to find close to another 10,000 reputation points somewhere. With the big ones like all the Gnomer quests only giving about 2500 points ... it gets to be scraping the bottom of the reputation barrel in very short order.

Draenei also have the issue of the flow of reputation kicking off after leaving Bloodmyst, with only very scattered quest givers thereafter. Again, it may not be mathematically possible to become Exalted with them prior to level 40, as you'd need a full base of sympathetic reputation simply because of the quest shortage.

It does appear that the Horde has fewer reputation-giving quests than the Alliance, so a repeat of this experiment on the Horde might yield different results (but I may still give it a try, just for kicks and self punishment). It appears on the face of it that Orgrimmar is easiest, followed by Undercity, Thunder Bluff, Darkspear, and finally, Silvermoon. Darkspear has the same issues Gnomeregan Exiles has (double duty of the newbie zone, few quests) and the Silvermoon faction has the same issue of the Draenei, with few quests that end early, and in its case, compounded by the issue of the split with the Trainquillien faction.

The easiest version of this experiment would be to start off with a human, since they get a 10% reputation bonus.

The hardest version would be to start out with an undead -- even more difficult than a blood elf. Both blood elves and undead start out neutral with all other Horde factions and friendly with one another. However, undead cannot do the level 1-5 blood elf newbie zone, and the blood elves CAN do the level 1-5 undead zone, thus losing the undead about 2000-ish easy faction.

Good reads in this thread. GJ Ren! ATM - being away from my WoW stuff, I think my main only has two factions in the exaulted level - none in Azeroth.

I found it pretty hard to believe too, sorry. I was on the rep grind for SW and later IF for my gnome and I know what a long haul it is. Maybe if you planned it all out and did every single quest available for each of those factions.. but if you did that you would hit 40 before you had done as many as you needed to be exalted for one individual faction.

To the OP, once you are almost there you can always go to a 10-20 zone of another faction and start doing them for the spillover rep, it's quick and it adds up. Did all the Night Elf earlier areas to get the last of my IF rep via spillover.

EDIT: sorry ren I missed your longer post with your link. Hats off to you and I'm amazed you got exalted with all those.

I noticed when doing spillover rep quests in Darn that the starting zone 1-10 quests give no rep at all. Is this the way it is with all factions?

All of this makes me feel bad, that I havn't gotten around to get exalted with all my factions yet either...
Revered with a few factions here and there, but only exalted with Darn. And I've been 70 for two weeks -.-!.

IME you have to be singleminded about rep grinding. If you are focussed on lvling or gear you won't get to Exalted very easily.

I'm enjoying having no rep grind with my hunter after all the mage rep grinding (which is still going on.. warbeads warbeads warbeads). My hunter will get her racial ram which is my favorite mount with Alliance and that's it.

Easiest Exalted rep to get IMHO: Sporregar. Sadly no fungus mounts on offer though.

Hm, I beg to differ. By far the easiest ones are both the Shattered Sun Offensive and Tranqillien. Just do a few quests and you'll hit Exalted before you realise it.

And Sporeggar has no mounts, granted, but they do have a pet. ^^

Has there been some kind of reputation change in a patch recently? I hear people talk about 'bleed' from one faction city to another, but that is not my experience.

By simply doing quests with friends I got within 5000 rep points of exalted with Stormwind by about level 35, and then decided that I'd get a horse instead of a goat.

I figured that if headed over to Darnassus I'd be able to grind that rep up pretty quickly with bleed, but that didn't happen. I'd get 200 rep with Darn, and nothing with SW - I was tracking very carefully. I must have got about 2000 Darn rep and not a single point of SW rep.

I gave up and did every 'take Timmy's tools' quest I could find until eventually I made it. Pretty quickly after getting exalted I came across another patch of SW quests and made 999/1000. THEN when I did SW quests I started getting 25% of what I would have got with SW, with Alliance.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but in my experience it is only after you reach max rep with a faction that its rep quests start bleeding.

Moustgaard
22-05-2008, 01:22 PM
Actually the "bleed" effect has allways excisted, however inh the earliest days, quests didn't give that much rep in the first place, so the 25% bleed wasn't easy to notice. Allso it seems to be mostly instance quests and late game quests that give any significant bleed. Today I'm pretty sure the bleed works "earlier" in the level range. F.eks. if you do all NE quest starter, Darnassus + Auberdine, it's around 16k rep or so, and that can be seen on your other factions as well.
