Guild has been carrying on kara for badges for some time now simply since its the best source of them, and with the new badge loot inc alot of groups have been full of mains instead of the usual alts. Because of that our clearing times have been getting pretty fast.
Managed a new guild record the other night of 1 hour 42 mins for every boss in kara which we were happy with, just wondering if anyone else has been doing this kind of thing and how they have been finding it. Personally look forward to kara these days simply because its such a laugh chainpulling everything :)
On a side note we mentioned in general kara chat that we had set a new personal record and were promtly spammed by a few peeps who said it was utterly impossible to achieve. While it doesn't bother me we wern't believed it would be nice to have some kind of way of minitoring the records since its getting to be a competition within guild to organise the fastest run. Anything think of a way that doesnt involve videoing the entire thing to prove a time is authentic?

A WWS log could be faked fairly easily, but it might convince people...
And 1hr 40mins? I'm impressed. *applause*

We always slack way too much for that to happen =)
Grab a drink, someone goes afk for a bit etc etc. 1hr40 would be nice though. Gives ya something to do with the rest of the evening.

Naa not all the trash, you might be surprised at what can be skipped :). That plus when using a main group all loot can be done with need/greed rolls of the game system itself.
Bascially from start to finish both tanks simply chain pull untill the healers cry uncle, which never really happens.
Thats plus a 10 man group comprising of 2 tanks (1 a druid), 2 healers and 6 dps makes for extreemly fast killing of stuff. As an example nightbane doesn't usually get a chance to fear. You have to remember were only there for badges and the fun of the speed run though, most of us are in T5/6 gear.

if we can do 2h30m with 7 alts or 2hr even with 4 or 5, then 1h40m is definitely doable, especially with mains who need nothing and you autoloot everything to enchanter or trust for need/greed rolls
but you're definitely bull****ting me with the nightbane not fearing
if you want time trial chain pulling, go get some ZA bear mounts

We have got some Bears, and ZA is indeed good for time trialing. But frankly I much prefere kara for the competition since I have never liked ZA much, plus kara is more badges :).
You don't have to believe me about Nightbane not fearing, but do remember that in that fight u have 7 pure dps (feral druid in dps gear mayaswell be) all with top end dps gear, plus people dont tend to stop attacking when hes in the air since the skels can be handled so easily. He was on 14% when he landed for the last time in the last kara for eg.

Having Nightbane not fearing is fully doable. It just means you get him down 25% before he fears every "ground phase". Not sure if he has to choose to use it or if it's allways every 30 seconds tho. I've seen him taking off before fearing myself.

Yup.
Been there, done that yesterday - even with a couple alts.
Druid tank, DPS warrior as off-tank so you don't lose any dps. 2 healers and full on nuke.
He never got to fear before he went flying again.
Be careful about nuking him when flying btw. If you get him below the next flight mark (e.g. nuke him from 50% to below 25%), he'll bug out and become unkillable.

we havent brought this group as a whole in yet, but a speed run sounds like a good idea...

My guild sent a couple groups in last night. It took the group I was in about 2:15 or so, skipping Nightbane, Netherspite, and Illhoof. We had a blued-out hunter in our group who was a recent recruit, and he was wondering if Karazhan was really this easy. :)
We keep a thread on our guild forums of the fastest boss kills for each boss in Kara. We set a couple of records last night, including 1:30 for Maiden. Not much compared to the T6 guilds, but we're working at it!

yea we hit it with our ideal group last night...finished in a little over two hours with netherspite and illhoof left...downed shade in 2 minutes 10 seconds, curator in 2 minutes 9 seconds, maiden in a minute 55....we were smoking through those tho...nightbane took us the longest...had time to fear us once, and only took off once...didnt check the time on it but it seemed really short since we kept dps up on him while he was in the air...landed with 15% health.

Us = guild with 5/6SSC & 3/4 TK (and now 1 MH).
Fastest full clear = 2hr40min
I am sure our best team, with a focus on setting a record, could push that to 2hr10min.

Our guild can do it pretty fast. We go in with two healers and the two tanks chain pull. I find that if we tell people before the raid starts that there will be no breaks and we expect no AFKs, everything goes faster. I find that (in non-speed clears) we must spend at least and hour waiting for people to come back after AFKing. It's nice to get Curator down during the 1st evocation. I heard of T6 guilds doing it before he even evocates.

3-4 hours for us, but kara is a "take it easy" night. Progression raids and za raids are rushed, its nice to just take your time and chit chat along the way.

I don't think we'd ever be able to persuade people to try a mains speedrun- but I dread to think. We clear in a couple of hours or so with alts. With mains in Sunwell/BT/MH gear, it would probably entail a chainpull of the whole place. To put it into context, we usually get a couple of ZA bears per week (like a lot of guilds), so speed runs are something we're used to.
