i would like to Fight and Take others Guild Bases.
aslo i hope the RvR is going to be Big and not just a 20v20 type thing. i want it much bigger then WoW's AV.

so far what I have seen of the PvP, it looks small for a RvR. (BUT STILL BETA) yes i understand it's still beta, but i have also heard the RvR is also Instanced Base but on a large scale then scenarios

Hopefully we will have the option to kill fanboi's touting games that aren't released yet. That would give me tons of satisfaction. Until the game is released, it doesn't exist so who cares.

Hopefully it will be good, but beyond that, who cares until then.

I'm honestly not holding out any real interest in this game. It has gone through so many complete and total rewrites and revisions, and has more or less become a Warhammer-themed version of WoW last I saw (akin to how LotRO is a "middle-earth themed version of WoW" -- yes, I know both are not completely accurate descriptions, and I know both have other merits, but nothing which would make me go "OMG I want to play those" when I can still play WoW and get more than enough enjoyment from it).

I like Warhammer Fantasy, have a pretty decent-sized Skaven army I trounce around with in tourneys from time to time, but there just is no appeal for me with the MMO. It is fused too much with the craptastic RPG that Games Workshop released that I've just never cared for. Oh, and it doesn't have my favorite race (Skaven) as playable.

Even though it is not a mmo I am more interested in the upcoming Fallout 3 then Warhammer. Man I love that series. I hope they don't blow it...

I'm terrified they will.

I hope I am wrong but I won't buy it until i see some reviews and maybe download the demo.

still want that World AV
(WOOT WOOT)
that's my main appeal to Warhammer.

other thing that seem to bother me when i seen some of the game-play videos and pictures, is the small Action Bar.

i hated that in Guild Wars, because it limits you greatly in Game-Play.
also I Hope the Fights last as long as WoW's Fights do on Avg, and not super short like Guild Wars' Fights

That was in response to Fallout 3, not Warhammer.

I hope it's a good PvP game, but again, I'm not gonna get excited about anything until it is released.

So you are not the least bit excited about WotLK?

I find that you can set yourself up for disappointment if you look forward to things… but you also miss out a lot if you don’t.

This reminds me of a certain fun Paladin post where someone asked what buffs we would like to see (or something like that), and someone else spoiled the post with comments like "Paladins are fine now", "not going to happen", etc.

Anyway, what I would like to see in Warhammer:

A lot of variety in class while being semi-balanced.
Fast PvP action (the videos all look slow. But that might be because the people don’t know what they are doing).
Lots of casters for my Witch Elf to tear through.
An addon that allows me to cover up my Witch Elf (even if it is only slightly)

I am, but nothing huge. Let me see those new abilities and talent trees and I might honestly start salivating (or screaming in frustration).

As I said though, I do hope Warhammer is a really good PvP game - not my cup of tea, but no one wants more crappy MMO's.

yeah i agree
also

i Hope they take off the gender restrictions on the classes.
(YES I KNOW LORE LORE LORE)
but so what!!!!!!!!!!

Give Orcs a Female Body Model (DOESNT MEAN THAT ITS FEMALE) just (LOOKS FEMALE LOOKING) yes i know the orcs have no gender, but i see nothing wrong with a female looking orc. they Already have male looking orcs.

FEMALE CHOSEN: WHY NOT?!!??!?!?!!!?? they even in the lore so i see no reason for not having them.

MALE WITCH ELF: just give them another class name for males, not that dam hard.

/agree.

If they could break the roles for the Sorcerer, then they can create “lore” reasons for the others to exist as well.

Maybe call the Male Witch Elf an Assassin, but let it have the same skills/abilities as the witch elf.

But we already know they are not going to do that, so we might as well live with it :). Have you pre-ordered the CE yet?

(and have you decided what you are going to play yet? I would guess Warrior Priest.)

I'm curious about the game. I've only seen stuff on Gamespot and it was VERY, VERY, uninteresting so I'm curious due to the fact that it's generated so much hype.

Anywhere I can go to look at all this stuff you're talking about?

Gamespy did a few articles recently: http://uk.pc.gamespy.com/pc/warhammer-online/860594p1.html. Read the “Dark Elves” and “Littlest Things” articles.

But it is basically a new MMORPG focusing on RvR (Region vs Region PvP). I don’t know if it is going to be better than WoW, have more players, or keep our interest for longer (WoW did a pretty good job of keeping me entertained for 2 years. I don’t think anyone else will ever be able to do that). I’m just looking forward to it because it’s something new.

Yeah, I hear that. I've been a WoW player since the day it was released, even did a little beta. I've yet to play (and pay for) a game for this long.

The video's I've seen of Warhammer just didn't make any sense whatsoever. It was a dwarven hunter (type) that looked like he had 5 whole abilities and the game play looked ULTRA boring, there wasn't any fluidity to the action. Seemed kinda' cut and dry, imo.

Well, the video that you would have seen would have been pretty low level (Im not sure if they are beta testing the high levels yet) - around level 5. How many abilities did Hunters in WoW have at level 5?

But the fuildity in motion is botherin me as well. I've seen a few videos where it looked ok, and others where it was just way to slow. The explanation for this is because it's people who don't know what they are doing (or that is what they say). I think we'll only find out when the NDA is lifted.

yeah some of the art work doesn't seem all too good. that one thing I dislike about Warhammer is the Physical Animation.
not to confuse this with graphics.
the Physical Animation deals with things like Movement, Melee Swing, Casting, other Physical Movements.

the Warrior-Priest in 1 of the videos seem to never turn his abs when swinging his hammer,
all he would move is his arms. and it looked a little lame for a melee swing.

game concept seem Cool (RvR)
but yeah the combat seems a little slow. thats likely do to the 2.0 sec GCD.

but I would like the combat speed to be somewhere around were WoW is. not faster, not Faster, not Slower.
GW combat was TOO fast for me, so of course i don't want it anywhere near as fast as GW.
(Sorry for Comparing it to WoW)

But its Still beta:sunny:

Iav Seen a leaked Bad Review of the beta so far

picture Ah, here's the HOT animation

The HOT reminds me of Seal of Blood. It's a cool glowing red thing. I'll post a picture later.

Q u o t e:
Isn't this breaking some sort of beta rules?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't really care. How are they going to find me? None of the information on my WOW account matches up with my WAR account.

They do the honor grind in a cool way. Every time you kill an enemy player you gain Renown, which makes your "PVP XP" bar fill up. Once you reach a new rank you can buy new stuff at a vendor.

And by the way, tanks are all kinds of awesome. They have so much control it's ludicrous. I cannot imagine winning without a tank.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q u o t e:
Combat still seems pretty 'floaty' to me, compared to WoW combat.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with this. The 2second GCD took me a while to get used to.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q u o t e:
Not sure if you can say or what, but what is Chaos Chosen like?

From what you've seen (are they even playable yet?)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Chosen is playable this push, but he's not very good right now. It seems like he's the weakest class at low levels, as most of his good abilities come at high levels.
He works off auras mostly. One of them is an aura that deals damage to an enemy whenever a party member blocks/dodge/parries an attack.
There's a "Retribution Aura" that works off spell hits instead of melee.

===============

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q u o t e:

From what I've seen/heard they work off of a twisting mechanic using a bunch of auras to use certain abilities and whatnot. Is that true?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, I can only use some of my abilities based on what aura I'm running. Some of my abilities are very basic (heroic strike clone, hurr) but some of them are very cool. I have an AOE snare (4sec duration), a debuff that makes the target do 50% damage against anyone except me, and an aoe debuff that reduces all damage people deal by 20% (i think) unless they are targetting me. I can also taunt people and drag them away from a healer.
I know the Black Orc can literally pick his allies up and throw them away from danger. I can't wait to play that.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q u o t e:
Is it true that there is a collision system between actual characters so you could have "tanks" block squishys from enemy players? I heard something about that and it sounded 10 kinds of badass.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes and no. You slow down drastically when running into people, like trying to run through a crowd. Eventually you'll get past it but you have to kick and push to get to the other side.
But with all the stuns, knockbacks, knockdowns, and taunts that tanks have you definitely see a "front line" in group PVP.

One really cool thing is that they added Stealth to Witch Elves and Witch Hunters. It can be used in combat and rapidly drains your action points (mana) so you can't have it permanently.
==============
Currently the only classes playable are
Shadow Warrior
Swordmaster
Archmage
Witch Hunter

Chosen
Witch Elf
Disciple of Khaine
Sorceress

My understanding is that keep warfare is world pvp like you're looking for wartro with siege weapons and all. Since guilds get to actually control and run the keeps and cities it should constitute a large portion of end game RvR.

I also understand that each class gets about 20 abilities that can then be modified with specializations similar to talent trees. A level 1 ability is still supposed to be viable at max level if you've trained it properly. It could be that the lack of action bars is perfectly attuned to how many you'll need. It might be just like a rogue in wow: not a ton of button mashing, but the timing and agility with which you push a button will swing the fight one way or another.

This game isn't going to appeal to most of the people playing wow I don't think. Honestly it'll fill a void in the market right now for a good, modern pvp game. Lets face it, while I enjoy arenas a lot and used to like BGs before I ran them 1000 times, real pvp is largely absent from WoW and the system is quite broken.

If raiding and endgame PVE is what you really love, I don't get the impression Warhammer is going to be for you. But if large scale pvp and RvR progression is appealing this game (if done well) should deliver over and over.

As far as just being "warhammer themed wow"; WoW is more "warcraft themed EQ" than I would expect warhammer to emulate wow. The focus of the game is totally different than wow, so I expect its mechanics to function differently as well. They've already said it won't be as gearcentric. Between that and the RvR focus I think you've got the ground work for a very different type of game. Already we know that tanks have a central role in pvp (as opposed to "you're specced prot...go raid").

The #1 thing i'd like to see is:

All the players who are currently playing wow who live to simply gank and grief other players.

I doubt this happens as a level playing field is not something they really desire.
