The only time we get to see one of those cool cinematic scenes is when you first start the game. I think there should be more of them.
Either when you first enter an instance when you enter for the first time, when you beat a raid boss, or when you discover a whole new area.
There could be a box to check in the interface to turn them off if you are on an alt and don't want to see them anymore.

That would take up too much memory, as well as leaving players completely vulnerable while watching these cinematics.

Not true on either account. Those "cinematics" are mainly a voiceover audio file and a "flyby" in the game. There is no extra graphics (and I am assuming he means the "cinematics" when you start the character, not when you first start the game ever).
Also, when you first enter the instance/dungeon, people could just not appear while they go through the cinematic. It isn't like instances are habitually made where you are attacked the second you zone in anyway.

Yeah, there can be some kind of immunity while they are playing.
This would also be a good way to make lore interesting and more well known. Right now it's not somthing i'd spend time reading up on, but if there was a nice voice over and some graphics to look at, like a short movie, then I could get more into it. Even if it was just 15-30 seconds I think it would add more flavor to the game.

Entering an instance, and beating the main boss (and any baddies in the room) would be an awesome place to have one. But make it completely skippable also.
I personally would love speech in the game, from the quests. Again, make it able to be disabled - but that would be cool. Maybe even in game cutscenes for some major quests - again, make them skippable.

They have this in guild wars. I really liked it and it's a great idea. They actually put in a whole story like a console RPG.
The problem comes from veteran players who are impatient. (Think: the guy who is noob-flogging a fresh 70 who wiped on an encounter he isn't familiar with). I used to get kicked from groups because I didn't skip the cinematics.

There's kind of a new cinematic right before you find Kalecgos in Magister's Terrace. You click on the scrying orb close to him, and are treated to a really nice fly over showing you the interior of the Sunwell, Anveena, the Dark Naaru etc. Your character is in a safe place when this occurs, (as long as the party doesn't run off and leave you) so just sit and enjoy the flight. Admittedly, the graphics are in game quality, so you don't get to marvel over the little snowflakes in the ruffling bear hair, but hey. it's still nice

I don't want video cinimatics anyway. In game is more than good enough.
