So I got this coupon for Carls Jr. (or "Hardees" for those on the east coast) that states I get a "free" small (21oz) drink and "small fry" with the purchase of any six dollar burger. When I go to Carls I usually get a double western bacon six dollar cheese burger (basically a six dollar western bacon cheese burger w/ an extra patty) combo. I order the combo and then attempt to present my coupon in order to collect the free extra drink/fry's but encounter a technicality. The cashier informs me that the coupon is not valid for combos. What the hell?
I was informed that the only way this coupon would work is if I purchased a single stand alone ala carte six dollar burger. I call scam. The difference between a standalone six dollar burger and a six dollar burger combo is about $1.50-$2.00, I'm already paying this amount and the coupon entails a SMALL drink and a SMALL fry. The small drink and the small fry cost far less than the large fry/drink I'm paying for with the addition of $0.89.
So to make things short, I decided to skip the coupon, pay for the six dollar western bacon cheeseburger combo w/ an extra patty and exchanged the regular fries w/ chili cheese fries whilst buying an extra side of criss cross fries.
What a rip off. $2 more for the chili cheese fries and the things tasted like crap. I've seen better cheese/meat at friggen TACO BELL. All this coupon consists of is a combo that's been downgraded to "small" and has become allegedly "free". You'd save probably $0.50 by using it.
I was kind've drunk when I went in there too and I dropped $8 on the ground, but the staff said NOTHING, it wasn't until 5 min later that I realized it was on the ground.
The last time I went in there, the staff was speaking SPANISH to me, WHAT THE HELL? I shouldn't need a translator to go buy fast food. It wasn't an accent either, it was FULL BLOWN spanish. I had to engage in some type of limited sign language until they finally brought the manager around who could also barely speak english herself/himself/itself but at least spoke broken english.
