I need to get about 14,000 honor for a neck piece?

What ways would you folks recommend I do this?

My thoughts are to run AB a little at a time until I get there.

Simply because I hate wsg and alliance often receives 0 honor for their effort in AV.

Eye of the storm just does not interest me, no fantasy feel to it.

That being said, short of hiring someone to do it for me i'm willing to undertake whatever method needed (within the tos) to get this done.

The last time I needed honor I simply parked beside a node in AV and alt tabbed out while watching some movies alt-tabbing back in every few minutes to run a lap around the post. Yeah, I know this isn't 100% effective but I was normally one of the few if any people actually guarding anything.

I ground out the 30k honor I needed for my Battlemaster's Perserverance by switching back and forth between AV and EOTS and by nabbing every bg daily I could get. Do you have extra marks you could turn in for the new honor bonus thing from the general?

If alliance usually gets 0 honor for AV then your best and you don't enjoy WSG and EOTS then obviously AB is the way to go for you. Keep in mind the PvP dailies also give honor IIRC in the neighborhood of 350-400 each. Don't forget the BG token turn in as well. It would mean spending a few minutes in the ones you don't like but you only need one loss each for a turn in.

Speaking of daily PvP quests, make sure that you capture a tower in Terokkar once per day.

Have you tried AV after 2.4? Our battlegroup used to get 0 - 40 honor from AV but we are now 50/50 wins and get 200 - 500 after 2.4 patch. My level 60 mage has 15000 honor and 76 marks by doing only AV for a week.

Actually I haven't but I have ran av 1,000 times pre 2.3.

I think i'll give it a shot to see what its like.

I'd just bite the bullet and do WSG. Every game you're guarenteed to get 300 honor for the token hand in quest. Every game you win, it'll be 900! Add that to the honor you just just for playing the game and it shouldn't be too bad. WSG weekends are probably the better time to do them though or when WSG is the BG daily quest.

Same here but that is because I don't mind losing and I enjoy killing in WSG for 45 minutes.

On my server, I would have to play 35 games (win 5 and lose 30 - I know alliance sucks).

If he has the other 3 marks 100 each,
WSG: 20 - 45 minutes avg per game on my battleground
WSG 45 marks x 314 = 14130 Honor points (NOT including HKs and Honor points you gain from the game)
35 games x 30 minutes avg per game = 17.5 hours.


AV: 15 - 30 minutes avg per game on my battleground
47 games x 300 = 14100 (NOT including HKs)
47 x 20 minutes = 15.67 hours.

I would say both BGs are very close. How about rotating between WSG and AV? LOL.

Queue for all BG's take the first to come up, if it doesn't look good, take the next, rinse and repeat. That should cut down on the wait time. Sometimes you get lucky and enter a BG just as its ending, instant mark and some honor.

Personally I prefer AV, but when I played it last, we (Alli) were winning a fair share. I'm with you though WSG is the worst.

I'm actually shocked at Rgirty doing that. I "believe" what he means is that he would simply wait and defend it if it got attacked. I could be wrong but I can't believe he wouldn't contribute in any way shape or thing.

Like myself, in AV, I take and hold towers until they cap generally. In AB, I cap and hold the farm and tell everyone else to go on ahead. I have macros set up to instantly alert everyone if people are coming.

WSG I defend the flag (JoJ duty as I call it - making Rogues/Druids hate me) and in EotS I almost always defend the flag and the runner as they approach.

You want me to run from node to node like the other morons in the bg with me, capping a node only to defend it for .4 seconds and let it get re-capped automatically?

If a rogue/warrior would "park" at that node with me our chance of winning the bg would improve dramatically.

I turn the game sound up to a high volume so that any sort of attack or unstealthing alerts me so that I can alt-tab right back into the game.

my "parking" (what I call defending) as a healing class is vastly more effective in the effort of actually winning than zerging every node on the map is for our team.

btw, i've run ab/av thousands of times on multiple classes and specs.

There is little difference when defending a node between alt-tabbing out the way I do than simply staring off at the horses near the stable.

The people that cause the BG to lose are the john J. rambo, leeroy jenkins solo classes that run head long into 4 defenders then scream at me for "ZOMG WHERE ARE MY HEALS"

I top healing in 95 out of 100 bg's that I have ever participated in as a holy class.

When I just started PVP/BG, I would scream at those AFKers or multitaskers (chatting, watching TV/movie...). After I got 40K honor kills on my 3 characters, I have learned to adjust my attitude.

It is just a game. If I am winning, I will be happy and enjoy it. If I am losing, I kill as many as I can.

And you should note HK's, in AV I usually get 30-40 simply by defending with a little group. We always get overrun after a while, but who cares, we get the most honor aswell. Nothing to defend? Go to the fight, I as a hunter stay behind the main line and rack up the kills like nobodys business.

You can't quote that stat all by itself. The mark turn in requires all the marks so 1 wsg mark != 314 honor points. One mark for any of the BGs is roughly equal to 78 honor. You can't just turn in 45 wsg marks for honor without having 45 of each of the other marks. That's 180 total matches to get 45 turn ins to get your 14130. If, as a worse case scenario, as you are farming for you 45 turn in marks you only get 80 honor per match (ultra low figure, but I've seen it before) you'd have your 14k honor before you finished farming your marks.

What you need to figure out is how much honor you average for the BG's on your group and factor in 78 honor for the marks. Depending upon how much you average and how much 78 is a percentage of that is how many marks you'd need to put you over the top.

In my above, worst case, example of 80 honor per match that's about 50% so you'd get to 14k honor only needing 90 combined matches. To further the worst case scenario assume 30 minutes per match the winds up being 45 hours of BG's.

I think it works out best if:
1. you don't count on the turn ins (they are gravy)
2. Play the bg you prefer
3. Play the bg which yields the most honor
4. Farm only the marks you need to buy the piece you want

I start by farming the badges I need for the item, I then put them in the bank. From there I grind marks for the hand in.

Also make sure you get the daily quest done every time, I generally win more when the rest of the alliance actually try to win for the quest.

True, but I was clarifying for folks who might have come into this in the middle. It is a common mistake people make when they hear somebody talk about marks and turn ins. Depending upon his groups wsg win::loss he needs between 15-45 matches of wsg which IIRC he said he hates.
