I just got a trial account on WoW and im completley new to the game. And i have a problem.
I fell down a waterfall and died, and when i tried to get the body back i somehow managed to get my spirit to fall of the edge of the island.
So now im stuck in the middle of a sea and i cant get back. I tired logging in and out but i just end up in spiritform in the ocean again. Is there a way to get back to the graveyard? Or do i actually have to spend all that time going around the island to where its possible to get up on land? It could take hours. :embarassed:

What you do is, go back to your character body with your spirit. Resurrect, and kill your character. Once your spirit respawns you will see this big White angel looking thing in front of you, just talk to it and click ok, and you will respawn right next to it. Another thing you can do is once you resurrect, look in your backpack and click on the "Hearthstone" its like a white circular thing. I take it that you are a Night Elf? =]
**EDIT**
Oh, your spirit actually fell all the way down. Well, you are left with two choices. You either run around the entire island in spirit form to Rut'theran Village. I am not sure if you will be able to resurrect there though so it might be a waste of time. The second choice you have is to run to Darkshore from there while might take forever. I would contact a GM by clicking on the Red "?" on the bottom of your screen and submitting a ticket.

Good luck! I hope a bad experience like this doesn't deter you from the game!

open a ticket with the gm.
once you do that, they'll give you other options to before you actually send in the ticket. one of them is if you are stuck somewhere, click the button to go back to your hearth, or to the spirit angel if you're dead. i did that several times in my newbie days.

Cant you just use the auto-unstuck option?
The question mark icon --> Open a ticket --> Issues that GMs can assist with --> stuck --> auto-Unstuck.
Try that.

Just have your spirit rush towards deep water and keep running until the exhaustion bar runs out.
Congrats, you just killed your spirit and you should be back at the spirit healer, who can rez you on the spot. So no need to go looking for your body again.

LOL I did that on my first ever toon. Could not figure out where to go. But then my friend took my body down to where the FP is on Teldrassil and I finally got it back.

the auto unstuck option in the gm ticket tab is the best way to get back to land, it will send you back to the last graveyard you was at the its a chat to the spirit healer

This is the best advice from the whole thread.
Run to the dark-blue water. Your spirit will get fatigued, die and re-appear at the graveyard. Ask the spirit healer to resurrect you and be off your merry ways.
Careful, from L10 you start getting Resurrection Sickness when you do this. It reduces your stats so badly all you can really do is run around. It only lasts 10 minutes tops though.

Wouldn't drowning be faster?

One time I died in Uldaman, and was coming back with my spirit. Got 'trapped' in some of the wood type structures before the instance portal. Was nothing I could do to get out, tried jumping and turning, different movement keys. I was there forever waiting for a GM to help me. It wasnt fun at all.
They couldnt res my body because there was packs of mobs in the way, and I am the tank. Sigh =/

I remember making this exact same mistake when I first started playing. lol
But last night I was double logged-in and I was trying to get a lvl 1 night elf rogue to ratchet to use the neutral AH so I could get him some gold from my horde account. He kept getting killed by Defias divers off the coast near theramore isle. I couldn't get far enough out... the divers were everywhere (I had NEVER known these guys were out there.) I brought my lvl 64 horde to ratchet and tried swimming to my alliance guy so I could kill the divers around him, but I died of fatigue after a while because I was too far out. Because I was double-logged my computer was running slow and I got stuck dead out in the ocean. I couldn't get to the spirit healer or anything. I couldn't move. Finally it got unstuck and I was able to get to the healer to rez. I didn't know there was an Auto Unstuck button ... ? I was offering 10g to anyone who could rez me before I finally got sent to the healer after about 10 minutes stuck in the ocean. Been playing for about a year now on multiple toons and this is the first time in a year that I've felt like such a total noob.

i feel for those who somehow fall into the world. they'll be falling so they cant hearth, get summoned, or unstuck themselves. they'll have to have a GM fix it.

you can't drown as a ghost.

you can't drown as a ghost.
I've managed to do that actually, but you have to go deep enough for the breath thing to kick in, and considering the depths required, he or she would be better off just running off towards the deep sea area, tends to work quicker.
