When your LFGing for a heroic, say, SP and a random shaman healer (same as me) walks past you and says 'your gear lacks'. Just because he has gruul epics, he likes to laugh at my blue gear (a few epics mind) just because 2 or 3 pieces have spirit on them. Maybe he doesn't realise that I dont raid everyday like he does and that I haven't found replacements for my gear yet, and so he wants to feel all big and mighty so says that my gear is rubbish. Ran heroic SP yesterday with no wipes and no cc, so I dont know what the problem is with my gear. Sorry for the rant^^ (and the typos, I'm on my iPod)

Muahahaha...well I don't see any typos, but does "on my iPod" mean the technology sucks so bad it either has too small buttons, no spellchecker, is generally crap or you forget how to spell when you have no technical help. Or do you only rant when you are on the iPod  ?

I would hate that if it was the reason that I get rejected to a run where I KNOW I can hold up in my current gear.

I have been in that situation because I was the only one in the raid who refused to do PvP just so I can get the 2 min trinket for Archimonde. I stood my ground, did it with the old 5 min trinket and WotF and NEVER was the one who stupidly wiped the raid in fire, airburst or other things.

But I also have been in that situation when levelling up (3 years ago) and somebody kindly pointed out that for a warlock I was laying emphasis on the wrong stats.

Still today in the raid, people comment on each other gear choices ("U sux"), but obviously it is a difference between friendly comments to a stranger making a snide remark...

Hehe, the typo remark meant that the buttons are too small, and I can never usually ne bothered checking ;) and yes, my iPod makes me ANGRY!

While I am not quite rude enough to say...oh, your gear lacks... here was my last encounter with someone recruiting for a pug.

Them: LFM Kara! (odd..it's a warrior..pugging Kara. Gee. I could use some badges.)
Me: What are you looking for?
Them: Kara! (Uh-oh...already.)
Me: I see that. What classes/restrictions?
Them: Oh, I'll take anything. (!!!!!)
Long, long pause.
Them: Well, are you coming?
Me: No, thank you.
Them: Fine! Be that way!

We look to make life easy on ourselves. Yeah, you're probably more than capable of running heroic sp with the gear you described, but I'm looking for a 45 minute, zero death run.

yes, I agree with you there Semiramis, that guy really didn't know what he was on about^^. I just didnt get why a random guy would come up to me, inspect me, and tell me that I lacked the gear, when I really dont. I think he just wanted to make himself feel good I suppose.

Just tell him in the future that his personality lacks. Might even want to point out some compensation behavior through gear on his part.

What I find worthy of hating is the idiots who get all upset and start name calling as soon as something I have done upsets their apple cart. Today, I was looking for the Defias messenger in Westfall. A dwarf comes running up right after I tagged the messenger and starts whacking on mob. I get the credit for the kill and then a whispered "*****" for not letting him get the credit. To which I replied "a word of friendly advice, next time send a hurried invite to someone who has tagged a mob you want and most likely you will get a positive response; calling them a name after the fact is not likely to improve your social standing" and then "welcome to my ignore list."

I understand the frustration of wanting a spawning mob and seeing someone else kill it right before your eyes, but good grief, use some common sense about it.

LOL, sorry to hijack the thread, about the rudeness of inspecting and condemning someone's gear, but this also is worthy of hating to see in game. It does nothing to further a person's desire to be cooperative.

the other day for a dungeon i got asked if i could heal. i had holy/disc against my name in lfg and replies that i could heal no probs.
then after invite to the group i had the tank say hey a full holy priest is in lfg now. i reply whats point when youve got a healer and his reply was yopu are a hybrid priest not a healer. the fool must have been on armoury to check me out as im listed as hybrid in that and he said he would rather a full holy priest heal the group as holy was better.
oh the joys of idiots who have no clue on how other class's work and prob more to the point didnt have a clue full stop

No, I don't. My resto shaman wears 6 pieces of tier 6 (I don't have the bracers yet, and have better legs). The only whispers my shammy gets about gear tend to be "where did you get...?" ones.

However, I wouldn't criticise people for having loweend gear for no reason. Generally, I will only venture an opinion of the gear's fitness for a particular task if someone asks for it. Hell, I have alts that still wear a few blues too :)

I suspect that your passer-by was just a lame e-peener. Pay him no heed!

Every PuG I've been in in an instance - and I mean EVERY one - in the last 2 weeks, if there's a wipe at least one person clicks the big red X in the top right hand corner. In fact, I tried 5 times over the weekend to get through ZF and each time we got about half way someone died, or levelled or 'haz to go eet!' and the group spits.

WoW players are, present company excepted, a lazy bunch.

My PuGs are usually good. I dont see why some people can't do it with PuG's it just takes longer to find a group, thats all. In the past month, i've not had a PuG that couldn't finish an instance. its weird.

Lucky me ^^
