why do people buy accounts?

I never understood why people buy accounts, I mean I know leveling can be god damn boring sometimes but you're just putting so much at risk.

Paying 500euros for a 70 is just insane, it's not even your really, technically it belongs to blizzard!
It's much cheaper to use a leveling guide but make sure you pick the right one. I levelled all of my 70's in under 10days using guides. *snip*

Paying for information you can find for free on community sites like these is just insane to me too.

Ok, it wasn't the most well written topic, but I am generally interested in why people buy accounts. What motivates them? Is world of warcraft really THAT imporant in their lives that they would want to spend hours upon hours looking for an account that fits their specifications.

As for the leveling guide link, yeah, its true, you can level really fast with a guide and so why not buy one of them for a tenth the price? I thought some reviews might prove helpful.

This site doesn't exist to be used as a facility to provide links to competing sites. There are leveling guides on this site, if you want yours here, post it here, and be done with it. But linking to another site is a fast way to get the link nuked.
