This is so embarrassing. I hope you all get a good laugh out of it.

My gnome mage was around lvl 60 and specced in fire. I was very frustrated though to have to spend 5 talent points in Scorch which as a solo player I found completely useless. Why were there no other choices??

Why indeed.. because I did not notice the scroll bar on the right side of the talent tree. I filled up the whole of Scorch without noticing that other fab fire choices were just a scroll down away. I felt like a total idiot when I realized this!! All the worse because I was in the Outlands when I realized it!

Had fun respeccing (and it was a huge improvement too).

I was at a vendor in hfp when i saw a nice spear with +70 attack. thought it was a nice spearkwhen i clicked the dressing room window, and to top it off, it was in limited supply. so i bought it, didnt think it was that much gold (about 35g) until i realize the stats on my axe had about the same damage and everything. i still havent used the spear, and have tried to AH it just to recover some loss, but no luck. oh well, i might as well level up my spear skill.

I created a paladin about 2 1/2 years ago when I was very new to the game. I remember seeing the judgement ability but somehow I misread it and thought it was a 6 minute CD....I was thinking that sucks. So needless to say I was level 33 before I got tired of these demons running away in Desolace and read Seal of Justice. I reread the Judgment spell tooltip, correctly this time, and felt like a complete moron.

On my hunter, my original toon, I didn't know that you could eat and drink at the same time (granted as a hunter you didn't need to eat much). I was 60 before I realized this.

Good thing this stuff was over two years ago - but sometimes I still do some completely boneheaded things....

Apart from pulling half of Scholo down on the group when we jumped down a ledge as a shortcut, I can't remember many really dumb things. How did I pull the dungeon? Forgot to dismiss my pet ofc ^^

The other thing I pretend to explain because I was new to the game. S 3 years ago when I was on my first serious character, the UD warlock, I was really stuck at lv 17. No quest in Silverpine that I could solo anymore and I was under the impression, a race cannot get quests from other races and in other races area (Trolls and Orcs were neutral to me)

Then one fated day, I got into a guild, and a member led me over to Barrens. Imagine my joy at all the yellow "!" in XR. Maybe that is why I still like to be in the Barrens...

Playing on my humble 31 pala. Made a macro:
/cast judgement
/cast seal of command

Went in to kill murlocs and it went horribly slow for a bout 10 minutes. I was even wondering why i sucked at being a paladin...then i checked the macro again

/cast jusgement...

I felt pretty stupid, fixed it and am running through mobs like crazy now

Hmm dumbness moment eh?

There was this one time I went questing in Stromgarde(is that right?) to get some items from the towers the blue ogres are guarding. On my way I saw another gnome(war), and asked him if he has the same quest we can share it. He agreed. We were a great team, gnome warrior and mage killing off the mobs easily.

Then we were at the stairs outside the tower, there was this mechanism that enables water guardians to help us kill ogres outside. What I didn't know was that activating the machine took our quest item. I didn't know that should happen. So I panicked when I realise the quest item I got was missing. I really freaked out cuz I don't wanna cancel the quest to get it again then kill mobs of ogres again.

My bud asked me whats wrong. He was like "??????????????". He asked me to chill out, and stop foaming. I told him the quest item is missing. Then he went roflmao at me, then told me that it dissapeared when he activated the water guard machine.

Lol silly me... <(^w^)>

Just tonight I was in Nagrand and someone bought a port from me to Ironforge. I made the port, he ported and then a mob I had been looking to slay respawned over the portal. I killed it. That still kinda happens in our raids. People are so used to click summoning portals at stones and from warlocks, tables and soulwells, that they automatically click mage portals when somebody just wants to port quickly back to respecc or pick another set of armor or pots up.

Suddenly half the raid is out of the Instance. Noobs galore ;)

This being my first orphan run, I had everything all plotted out where I had to go...you know, the most optimum paths for xp and such.

My first stop was HP. Land..my orphan is gone. Good god, those little legs could run as fast as my dreadsteed and I figured she would hop on the back of the flyer. I have my quests..but no orphan.

So, instead of actually "reading" the quests, I abandoned them and flew back to shat.

I was not "whistling" a happy tune.

Two similar stupid actions of me in a row this week.. a few days ago I did my normaly routine.. dailies, isle, trying to do some other quests.. and I was feeling pretty incompetent. I had no idea what the deal was, perhaps I was just feeling bleh, but I began to become pretty annoyed with myself. Until I suddenly noticed there was a fishing pole on my back.. which I had used for the daily fishing that morning..

And yesterday, I was busy doing some dailies in Nagrand and trying to get that bloody Mag'har escort quest done, when I was asked for a heroic BF run (the daily). Sure, summon me up Scotty, I'm up for it. The run went reasonably well, we had 1 wipe because of overaggroing and 1 because the healer went DC, but overall we did good. Back in Shat I'm sorting out my bags and suddenly see my headpiece among the quest items.. wtf? I open my character sheet, to find the survey goggles still there.. :embarassed:

The other day i was doing dailies on the isle, and got invited to a raid to Kara.
We had to wait for a bit for a healer and i decided to finish a few dailies.
But my plan failed, no matter how many erratic sentries i converted i dident get a single confirmed in the quest log.
Rather strange i thought to myself and decided to petition a GM.

The following conversation takes place:
GM: how may i help you etc.
ME: Yeah, the daily quests seems to be bugged. I cant seem to get them confirmed.
GM: Sometimes addons create these kind of issues, have you tried turning them off?
ME: No, ill give it a try. ill petition you again if it doesn't work
GM: bla bla bla.. can i help you more etc..
ME: No ty.

Then i remembered, damn, i cant do quests while in a raid.

Ugh.. I've done this more than once.

The most memorable time was when I had the Kara quest to pick up the stupid bone just outside of the instance (near the meeting stone.)

I had just finished raid and I couldn't find the bone.

I went to several sites, looking for information on where it was and I saw pictures of it. I saw the bone laying on the ground and kept trying to lick it, assuming that maybe my mouse was just off or something.

I seriously spent a good hour trying to figure out what in the world was going on before I realized I was in a raid group. :embarassed:

My moments of complete dumb that have happened to me more then once is when the Healer dies and I need to jump on the Tank and start healing him (Ele/Resto Shaman=Healing when healer is unable to heal) and instead of first clicking on the tank's portrait, I start hitting 3 and 8 (my hotkeys for Healing and Lesser Healing Wave respectively) and start healing myself as opposed to the tank, meaning the poor tank gets beaten on while I heal up an already 100% toon.

Mine was last night--An Alliance hunter, I was on my flying mount over Terokkar Forest (sp?) and I got zapped by AA from below. Seems I was flying over a Horde encampment. I bounced off rooftops and awnings and landed among some angry Horde npcs. Just about out of health I was able to see that there were a sizable group of friendly players around just before I was finished off by a brutish Orc. Okay, I thought, there's a bunch of friendlies in the area, they'll help, I can revive right in the camp and fight along with them and survive. So I trudge my spirit back to the camp and rez right there in the middle of the action. But the guys with the blue name labels aren't helping me or fighting the Horde! I'm quickly dispatched by a host of Orcs and back at the graveyard. Then I realize, Duh! Those "friendlies" with the blue names were just Hordies who weren't tagged pvp!

I bet they're still laughing...

Similar story. Wound up healing a guild Gnomeregan run on my feral druid, so picked up some healing gear, equipped it, and went on my way. Picked up a lot of gear to DE/vendor along the way, and Gomer being Gnomer, we got out of there a lot later than most runs, so I hearthed when we got done. Mailed everything that wasn't soulbound off to my enchanter, and vendored the rest.

Logged in in the morning to realize that I was still in my quickly thrown together healing gear, and my lovingly gathered feral set was gone. Fortunately, I was only 48 at the time, so it's not like I lost anything that would still be relevant after the expansion came out (this happened between 2.0 and the expansion).

I had two of them and it was going to be such a great Agility boost!! Somehow I had never realized that "you cannot equip more than one of this item". I guess I never had two of the same ring or trinket before. It was very disappointing :(

look somewhere on the ring's tool tip...

if an item says "Unique" then you can only possess one at a time, ever (equipped and in bags).
Or if it says "Unique Equipped" then you can only have one of them on at a time equipped.

I noticed that my paladin's FA skill was still lagging behind, so I decided to level it a bit. I flew to Dustwallow Marsh to buy the expert/mageweave books, only to discover that my bags were full.

"No problem" - I thought - "I'll just sell a few items to the vendor to free up space, buy the skillbooks, learn the skills, then buy the items back."

After learning the Expert level, I noticed that I didn't bring the materials to level the skill further. "Fine" - I thought - "I'll just hearth and take some cloth from the bank".

So I did that and levelled the skill to 225. With a smile on my face, I strode over to a nearby vendor... and with a sinking feeling, I realized that the Buyback tab resets when you switch to a different continent.

I may be the only person in WoW who actually vendored 3 full stacks of Khorium bars just to get some mid-level bandages.

I've had my own share of screw ups:

Late one night was flying Herby runs back and forth between Netherstorm and Terokkar. I would fly around Netherstorm then head to Terokk and farm. Hearth back to Stormspire and took off for Socrethar's Seat and set the autopilot and went and got a beer, I got back and for no apparent reason clicked on my mount and fell all the way down into the abyss. Twice.

Later, I decided to level my then 18 Frost mage in Duskwood. I meant to add mana oil to my staff but disenchanted it instead.

I was in ST with a group when a guild buddy of mine said "Hey Gorn, see tht big hole over there? Go jump in." Like a nub, I did and fell to my death right in the middle of several Elites. I was too far out of the Priests' range to Rez so I had to come all the way back and could not figure out how to get my spirit self under water so that i could get back into the instance.

Was fighting Ragnaros and decided to go for a swim in the lava pools.

Was fighting Onyxia and after getting booted by her, took one too many steps back and walked into the eggs here. Wipe.

last night i got kinda annoyed at the gorillas in ungoro dropping empty barrels, each taking up an inventory slot.

then i thought... monkeys dropping barrels.... donkey kong! *smacks forehead*

i love ungoro. first it was link and zelda, then it was mario and luigi, now its donkey kong.

not really a moment of dumbness, more like a moment where i realized how clueless i was for so long. haha. and i've quested there many times... (yes, and i know the Chasing Amy reference)

I had a revelation yesterday and I feel like the dumbest person ever.

I have been doing battlegrounds for months and months. I always saw all the players join with tags like Azuremyst, Blood Furnace, etc...and I had no clue.

Never dawned on me that those were the servers for the battlegroup.

For some reason, I thought it was some exalted toon. I guess that is because I would see scryers all the time.

Trading to crafters has caused me a couple of issues, once i was running late to a raid trying to get a blue gem cut, someone finally agreed to do it so i ported ran upto him traded with them, stood waiting for a minute or two then he whispered me " Do you want the gem cut or not" - you guessed it traded it to the dude standing next to him. And with my luck he was not a nice person and just said bad luck im keeping it.
Same thing again trying to get spellstrike hood crafted before a raid, traded the guy two nethers instead of one, half way thru the raid it dawned on me, tryed whipering the guy - offline. Lucky for me he was a nice guy and it was in the mail when i got out.

Stupidest thing i have done - we were looking for places for guild events and i had heard of "Dancing Troll village" so off i go climbing thru the mountains, fall into a hole i couldnt get out of , tried the auto unstuck, no good, hearth stone had 20 min CD left, then i remember hearing somewhere if u delete your hearth stone and do the auto unstuck u get hearthed home, so i dump my hearth and try auto unstuck, no good and now no hearth. eventually an hour later i manage to wall climb out and fall down the other side into the village - splat dead. i then had to run from the other side of the mountains as a ghost all the way around thru three zones on the way back thru the mountains my ghost fell into another hole i couldnt climb out of. tried the auto unstuck method no luck again.
After trying to wall climb to no avail for another hour, i admitted defeat, posted a ticket to a GM. Got a "this is why u are not to go to out of bound areas lecture" then i got magically ported home with my tail beteween my legs.

Ok, I'll take the lead in this.

Ended my account on May 29th, not May21st. During the time in between, I thought my account was hacked and also thought I was playing for free. My guildies sent me a few personal emails stating I was hacked which I sent numerous emails to Blizz as well asking the blue gods here for help. This all started with me not able to see "Manage My Account" info for one week. Which is still odd. I caused a lot of unecessary actions for Blizz.

But as of last night, I signed back up seeing I'm back in town for at least 3 months.

I had just started an alliance Pally(who is now 30)I was having so much fun trying out all these cool spels, and then a level 20+ mage started stocking me. Im Finish and my toon is too, and since hes name is "Juuso" she noticed that and started asking things like who i was and "Ootko Suomesta" (Are you from Finland?)

I was getting really anoyed since i was having so much fun questing and using all the new cool Pally spells. So i just told ger to bug off, but she woulnd't Finally i said;Im gonna log on to my mage and KILL you!"

I had also a mage charecter who is now 30 also. Anyway i logged on to her and dragged her but all the way from Redridge to Goldshire. I started shouting in general chat that this paticular person was a loser and a coward, who didnt have the guts to face me. I challenged her to a duel. She declined. At this point i noticed she was Arcane. I started calling her a chicken again in general chat, and finally offered her 1 gold if she could beat me, and she agreed.

I was all FIRED up and thinking;"Only a total NOOB would level as Arcane. I CANT lose!"

It was all over in less then 10 seconds. At first(like all good mages)i tried to sheep, but she had put manashield up. Then she starts using Arcane missiles, wich are the best choise for mage in a meelee situation. I was totally locked, and remember actually blasting 1 Pyroblast at her. I took some dinstance and tried to drink health potion. I had real health potion on my bag, and some crap i had actually made myself. I chose the crap "potion" and was soon at her feet begging for mercy:shocked:

I was totally stunned, beaten and also broke(had not started using auction at the time)

Now my alliance alts were both totally beaten, but hey, im a SHAMAN:cool:!

So i thought;Shammy will teach them a lesson they wont soon forget, and started planning on raiding Goldshire(i was about 36 at the time)Found a rather dump warrior who was about my level, and willing to try it with me. We took to Ratchet, and from there to Booty bay, where i used water walking to get us to Westfall and from there Goldshire.

Then i thought;were 30+and there 20's so theres NOTHING they can do, and i can use far sight to chech for 70's around the town senter.

Our plan was simply(and stupid);slaughter EVERYONE! We rose up from the water and run all the way to Elwin-Westfall border, and from there on began to slaugter EVERYTHING and EVERYONE in our path! The guards were about 10 levels below us, but just refused to die and atleast drove me to 50% health(was wearing leather at the time)

We proceeded to slaughter EVERYTHING in out path, and finally jumped into the woods right before Goldshire. I used farsight to check the place "No 70's there we can still do this!" I thought. Our plan was to really kill EVERYONE(including the players who has PVP on)and then make it to Duskwood for safety. The warrior followed me was we charged for the town

The next thing i could remember with all the confusion and lag was a guard constantly hitting me. There was a health bar going down real FAST! "That must be the lowbie guard" i thought to myself and tried to kill him even faster. I was dead in about 1 second.

We hadnt noticed the level 65 Stormwind guard who had wondered there out of nowhere(probobly had arrived from Stormwind as we slaughtered the people on the way to Goldshire)There we were, two orcs lying face down in the center of Goldshire with everybody laughing and mocking us.

"I dont get this! The guards are supposed to be under 30!"

"No kidding Sherlock!" says the warrior replied lying face down. We release spirit, talk to spirit healer and teleport out of there, but from that day on my mage is a "coma" for about a month, and my Pally moves in Goldshire while hiding:embarassed:

I have a couple more to add. The first one will make everyone laugh.

When I first go the game, the default camera angle was down. I swear, I played for 2 weeks just looking down. Imagine my delight when I found out I could see in front of me.

The second happened yesterday. Used most of my HP for 3 +12 spell damage gems from the dude in Hall of Legends. I was giggling to myself that I am saving so much gold by buying pvp gems. I found out wrong and feel like such an idiot.

been using healbot for a long time on my priest. then I found that I was healing for 1400 health with a spell that was supposed to do 2000 (no debuffs present). then last night I realised that I hadn't updated the spells I using to include the best rank in each spell. so instead of trying to heal a tank with rank 5 greater heal, I was using rank 2 greater heal. I felt so stupid
