Yes indeed I must, but my toon is a dwarf. You'd think those squeaky gnomes would be grateful for us letting them squat in our hallowed halls, but they always want more.

So, could anyone point me in the direction of a good list or guide to Gnomeregan Exiles quests?

Cheers!

I'm pretty sure that many of the quests in Tanaris/Gadgetzan give Gnomeregan Exiles rep. If this isn't the answer to your question, I apoligize. I'm pretty new.

those give steamwedle cartel rep, which is gagetzan, bootybay, ratchet, and everlook or something. they will not give you gnomeregan rep. you'll basically have to do all the quests for the gnomes, then gnomeregan the instance, with all the quest turn ins, then do the reputation quests turning in cloth. good luck.

I just did enough battlegrounds to get the PvP Battlestrider for my Dwarf. Basically, most of the Gnomeregan Exiles quests are in the same areas you get your Ironforge rep quests -- the Gnome & Dwarf starting areas.

Gnomer is one of the hardest reputations to get up in the game, period. Without working on all other reputations to get sympathetic rep, you're just not going to get enough. You're pretty much doomed to turning in stacks and stacks of runecloth when you turn level 50. Let's just put it this way: my 42 Draenei hunter who is Exalted with Darnassus, Stormwind, Exodar, AND Ironforge isn't even CLOSE to Exalted with Gnomer yet. And she's done almost all the quests that give rep that she can at her level, without many more available in sight.

There are some popular item/quest database sites that have lists of faction quests, but I can't name them here because they advertise for gold sellers. Look around at a few popular ones and you'll find them. Or listen to the World of Warcast podcast, episode 57, where I did an entire episode on the topic of player reputation, and I give more of the answers there.

Fortunately, there's a much easier way than grinding rep, which is very, very painful for Gnomer. Get 30 battleground tokens from each of the Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, and Alterac Valley battlegrounds, and when you're 60, get the epic PvP strider available from the BG vendors. Trust me, it's easier.

I have never seen a dwarf on a mechanostrider. I enjoyed mine a lot but didn't get a swift one because eventually the noise just bothered me too much. They are very noisy. Good luck with your rep quests! I am exalted with Stormwind and Ironforge (and Sporregar, lol) and have a Black Stallion and a Swift Grey Ram. I never minded the grind. Just remember if you are single minded about it you will get it in the end no matter how far the end is. I recommend just working on the rep and not getting distracted. Don't worry about leveling.

For the ram I was a bit stuck, I had done all the dwarf quests already up to my level other than some dungeons (I am solo). I went to Darnassus and did all NE quests for the spillover rep alone. Got a lot that way, though of course leveling is slow. After that got too much I went to the Eastern Plaguelands and harvested undead for runecloth. This went on for like.. a week. Got some cool drops there. I also regularly checked the AH and bought cloth whenever it was at a low or when someone totally underpriced it. I was thrilled to get my ram! It probably sounds insane doing spillover but if you do all the starting zone and up quests it does add up quite a bit.

I will probably go for an Elekk soon, after I get Peanut in the children's quest. I want to be a gnome riding an Elekk with Peanut running behind me.

Gnome reputation is indeed one of the hardest Alliance factions to get rep with. Which is mainly because alot of quests are linked to cities, and the gnomes not having one reduced the number of quests heavily. Also they were just chucked into the game a bit last minute by blizz (compared to the other races) and thus have less quest givers.

I'm a gnome & the type of person who does *every* quest in the game. Yet by the time I was 45 I was exalted with SW, IF and Darna but not even close to 1/4 revered with the gnomes if that.
On a similar note, Exodar is probably the hardest if you dont level up there at the start. I think the reputation there is still scaled (you get less at a higher level) which is no longer the case with the other 4 races. Repuation used to be scaled like XP is, so you'll actually see alot more old players (who have played WoW since day 1) with not very good Rep...for them to rep up is pretty expensive now.

One tip I can give is that, do childrens week quests. Tons of Alliance rep. And just do *every* alliance quest you see. If you get rep for any city, there is some spill over for all the other 4 cities too. Similarly collecting all 50 Lunar Festival coins also gave tons of free rep, so I informed my friends off this. Its just good to keep an eye out on holiday quests. Im sure Mid Summer holiday will also have some.

In the end I had to buy about 10k of my Exodar rep by handing in Cloth (which i had *tons* of thanks to doing the Winterspring rep grind). I did this at level 60 though because I really wanted an Elek, and I guess I missed out on tons of Quest rep had I done all of OL. But I had the money to burn...
Gnomes I got exalted by level 68 just doing all quests I came across. Most people skip alot of quests so I can see why it could be expensive to get the rep.

Good luck!

12 exalted's for me so far

I admire your aspirations :) I have been thinking lately about having my gnome ride an Elek - I don't like the Elek for my Dranei mage but I think it would be cool for a gnome :D

After reading this thread I've been thinking I want my girl dwarf engineer to have an unpainted mechanostrider. I'm all about the character with this one and this would totally suit (though I will also get a ram as they are my favorite mount).

I might have to use my main as a cloth grinding, gold grinding slave for this.

Meh, at L40+ you can start soloing large chunks of Gnomeregan. At L50 I could do the whole thing as a druid. Not only does the instance drop an insane amount of greens and the occasional BoE-blue, but you'll also FINALLY learn the layout of it. Once you're there you'll find it's a very fun instance to do, even more when you're "level-appropriate" for it and have a pallytank for the AoE-pulls .

Well I sucked at Gnomeregan as a mage. But the mage pretty much sucked at everything until Outlands and better gear when things seemed to really pick up. I guess I'll wait 'til the hunter is near 40 and go back there (I still have my uncleaned grime encrusted objects from the mage runs, LOL).

I am so keen on the unpainted mechanostrider that I started another bank alt, a naked human named Clothboy. He is keeping all my runecloth until I can start donating it for Gnome rep.

Thanks for all the info guys. I've pretty much ruled out getting a mechanostrider anytime soon, but I'm only 300 rep points off Exalted with Stormwind so I'm going to get a horse. Is there any difference between the horses available at Menethil Harbour and Eastvale?

I've seen some guys riding about on barded horses, will that be an option when I go to buy?

Yes! At Menethil Harbour you can get a Black Stallion. That's the one I got for my gnome. It looks great IMHO. Go check it out before you buy something else :)

Or the Paladin class mounts.

Or the Paladin class mounts.

That must have been it, one of the guys was level 55.

I have my black stallion now. I forsee a problem though. Now that I'm getting used to riding, and before that using Aspect of the Cheetah, I find the tortuously slow pace of my bank alt unbearable even when going from the bank to auction house. I seriously wonder how I'l ever manage to level another character.

If you think that's bad. Imagine going from an epic flying mount which moves at +280% movement speed, back to a character who doesn't even have something like Aspect of the Cheetah :P
