Fact: My buddy and I are trying to get as far in the game as we can WITHOUT walkthru guides.

Fact: We just figured out last night that quests that are too low for you are still available to do, but just don't show up with a question mark. Took us to level 20 to figure that out.

Fact: We may have missed some class quests because we leveled up too high and they don't appear as question marks anymore so they are harder to find.

Question: Are we penalized in the game long term if we missed some early class quests? Are the class quests sequential so you can only get the better ones later in the game if you finish the lower ones first?

Thanks for the help!

Fact: Thats annoying.

Question: If you're worried why don't you just go back and do them? I don't think looking up class quests that you may have missed can be counted as using a walkthrough guide.

How about you list what class/race combo you and your friend are, then we might be able to say if you've missed anything.

Like with the paladin, say for instance the ability to resurrect folks. Fairly useful skill to say the least, some folks miss the quest and only learn at 60/70 that they were supposed to be able to bring folks back to life.

Correct me if i am wrong but i do believe all class quests come from your class trainer so go talk to him and see if you have any quests available to you. Also about the paladin resurrection quest, you can train that ability too but if you do the quest you get the res at 14 instead of 20-something

They either start with your class trainer or you class trainer points you in the right direction. And for some reason certain class quests occasionaly show up as ? even if you are too high for it.

Class quests tend to be pretty crucial but it's quite hard to miss them. If in doubt, go to the training area in your home city and check all the NPCs there for quests.

Whilst I applaud your decision to not look up any walk-throughs, would looking up quest lines (not reading locations or tactics, just who gives the quest and at what level) break that rule?

Not using a quest guide and not using the Internet at all to look up things you don't know are two different methods.

Like TPMdm said, all class quests come from your "home" class trainers -- either from your trainer in your native 5-10 village, or from your trainer in your home major city (Stormwind, Orgrimmar, etc). Even if you leveled 5-10 in a zone different from your normal racial starting area, you'll either be able to get the class quest in that different zone or you'll get a "breadcrumb" quest directing you back to your native trainer. So check with that trainer and the trainer in your racial city if you're worried.

You don't have to do every quest presented to you, and there are few reasons to go back and do quests that are too low for you. The class trainer quests are pretty hard to miss, if you've been doing training.

No, you are not penalized for not doing class quests in low levels. You can still do these quests whenever you feel like it. Just go back to your class trainer and pick up the quest you didn't do. I am a Rogue and I only did 3 class quests to get the skill "Pick Lock" and "Make Poisons" I skipped all the other class quests.

I skipped a lot of the mage class quests once I realized that the rewards were truly useless.

my warrior took me 35 days played to hit 70 and only in mid 60's did i find this place and a well know thot** site to get help on quests. i did every single quest i came across and all my class quests. my hunter did 1-60 pre 2.4 and i stopped doing quests at 10 when i had my pet and then i did maybe 3 or 4 quest chains that i knew gave me good rewards the rest of the way i just picked an area full of beasts and killed/skinned my way to 60 then quested in outlands, but i never did a single class quest past lvl 10 and its not affected me in any way. the same wit my priest apart from healing someone in elwyn forest ive not done a single class quest.
dont worry about following guides as i belive it takes the fun out of playing the game but do go and get some help online to get your quests done faster if you are stuck trying to find a certain place
