Hey nice forums here.
I have a question about the Auctioneer addon. Been using it awhile - just the simple scan, drop my item into the Auctions tab (I believe), the suggested bottom and buyout price automatically pop in based on the recent prices.
After loading the new version this weekend (after a full WoW repair) I see the scan is now just an > arrow button at the top. I looked forever to find it. Now the last thing is to get the suggested start bid and buyout prices to automatically pop up. Right now, it's just putting vendor prices in the start bid, and nothing in the buyout. I want it back to the way it was before.
What can I do to get it to work like it did before? Thanks!
(p.s. I'm new here and if I've posted in the wrong forum I'm sorry; please move it for me.)

Thank you very much! That was my problem. I'd had classic loaded before, and when reloading chose the advanced suite.
This time I selected Full and I'm good to go. Thank you so so much! Off to the AH!

Auctioneer Advanced is a completely different animal than Auctioneer Classic.
Unlick AC, AADV scans anytime to visit the AH, and it maintains a seperate set of saved viariables as well. I have been using AA. When running AADV, you can make it start scanning the entire AH by typing /aadv scan. But that's just the tip of the iceberg:
Both Auctioner Advanced and Classic are meant to do three things in general:
1. Scanning the AH to assist in finding the market value of items.
2. Providing a means to post auctions in a fast and efficient manner.
3. Providing a method to identify good deals on the AH that you might profit from.
But AADV does sme things that Classic does not, including:
Auctioneer Advanced is a ground-up rewrite of the Auctioneer code in order to provide a number of enhancements to the end-user, including:
CompactUI - An alternative to the standard auction browsing interface
Displays more auctions per page
Displays more data per auction
Provides a percentage comparison with the Market Value Statistic of your choice
Allows auctions to be color coded by price level
Allows multiple sorting options not available on the standard interface
Appraiser - An alternative way to post your auctions
Remembers your preferences for bid/buyout prices, stack sizes, and number of listings to post per item
Allows queuing of auctions, so you can instruct it to list hundreds of auctions and alt-tab while it does so for you
Allows you to specify the value price of your choice and remembers your selection
Displays competing listings, the age of the data, and allows you to sort these listings and refresh them easily
Provides a scrollable list of all auctionable items in your bags and allows you to select them for listing quickly
Provides a "Match Competition" setting which will automatically undercut your competition when posting auctions, within your parameters
Stat modules - These are customizable statistic modules which can be added to provide different types of pricing information through Auctioneer
Stat-Simple - A straight average of the last 100 listings seen per item, with averages across 3, 7, and 14 days
Stat-StdDev - Similar to Stat-Simple, this ignores listings that are outside of one standard deviation from the mean.
Stat-VendMarkup - This allows you to calculate a listing price based on a markup of the vendor sell price.
Stat-WOWEcon - This uses the outside addon WOWEcon to provide purchase-based data from it's database.
Any other stat module that you or others wish to create can be easily added to auctioneer functionality
Newest version also does-
By default, Appraiser will now prevent you from listing an item for less than you would make by vendoring it (including the AH cut)
You can now alt-click item links to set their properties in Appraiser, you no longer have to have the item in your inventory to set these properties. This setting must be enabled in the AA options.
The Bottom Scanner pop-up icon is now clickable (and so is usable for the above functionality as well)
AutoMagic should now automatically sell/load all appropriate items
Enchantrix chat output is now optional
Enchantrix-Barker improved, should bark the proper stats again
Assorted bugfixes and minor changes throughout the application

Heh sure! I'll come here and post it first. :P
BTW I saw the next post about Adv. I actually DID like using the advanced just for the reasons that a small window would pop up and let me know that there was a special deal on the AH. (I understood then how someone bought out my light feathers for vendor priced 1 silver a stack immediately on the AH, nearly before I got them out of my pocket!)
I did load the full and am all back up and running normally. I did think the Advanced included the Classic version plus more. So why could I not get my Adv version auto pricing bottom and buyout prices for me? I think there must be a way, I just didn't know how to configure it. I'd rather use the advanced version just for the fun of watching for the bargains. Just asking IF it works, and if so, how can I configure it to do so, since it didn't work that way automatically?
Thanks!

Advanced and Classic versions do not come packaged in one bundle, atleast not from the developer's site.
I could answer your question with a mass wall of text crit on you, but have a read on page 2 and 3 first. (http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.php?t=404163&page=2)
Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Hey there again,
Not sure what that means but I'm off to read those pages now. So much information on this to absorb and sort out. I really love the mod - it's one of my favorites - and I want to know more about it and more on how to get full use out of it.

You would need to compile a new database, but ADV can run along side Classic Auctioneer and you can use the old database while building a new one in AADV.
Easiest thing to do with aadv is go to the AH, park there and then either type /aadv scan or hit the little play button. Then go do the dishes or take a shower or something. Scan takes 15 min or less, and once you scan you have something to work with, and on top of that you can use any same facion toon you like as the data is account specific, seperated into ALliance zone, Horde zone and Neutral zone.
AADV scans whenever you are at the auction house and the interface is open, so if you pull up Motes of whatever type, it scans those and updates itself. If you searched one handed swords, it updates all thse too... and so forth with any item type on the AH.
Also if you use bottomscanner you can make some easy cash once you have a decent database to work with.

Sure they do, download AuctioneerFULLSuite from their site.

Also, with AAVD, if you use the appraiser for posting auctions you do not need to drag and drop items any longer, plus Appraiser will search for matching items and show you what is out there on the Ah. Appraiser makes posting auctions way more simple.
And if you do not want to babysit bottomscanner while scanning the AH, use the new search functions that they have implemented on the sidebar. I love them myself.

I sould have checked before I posted that, I have the DL ilnk for AADV bookmarked, so I never see the actual page, I just DL the current version.

Indeed, I do just that.
For those that don't know - don't scan and run bottomscanner at the same time, it slows your scan way down.
