Anyone know of a mod that makes a bar that auto-populates ONLY quest items? Currently using Autobar, but I don't need the rest of the crap, just the quest items. If anyone knows of a mod like this (even outdated, I'll fix it if needed) please let me know.

Well, you can always remove all of the non-quest-item buttons in Autobar

That's what I'm currently doing, but it seems like such a waste to use such a complex mod for simple thing.

I don't know of one that automatically tracks quest items, but I used LootCount (http://wowui.worldofwar.net/?p=mod&m=4359) to give myself a display of any items I wanted to be tracking. Fantastic little mod, I love how it automatically generates fee spots for adding the next thing you want to track.

aye lootcount ftw! i use it to store all my mining matts and bars, all my long term collection items like aldor rep items, enchanting matts (i get all my green drops dusted) the matts i collect to have buff food made, heroic badges etc.
Its great coz it reads from your bank aswell, which means i can always see what i need to stock up on or answer any questions about if i have enough matts to craft this or that.
Combined with Mote_Fu it covers all my grinding needs.

BUT i would also love to see a mod that would auto populate a bar with quest items. It is possible as those items are tagged (altho not being a developer i dont know the details of how this works) The problem with LootCount is alot of quest items require you to use them which u cant do on lootfu ofc. At the moment im making do with an empty bar on my trinity setup that i drag quest items into when i need but it would be nice to have it automated.. anyone planning on doing sumthing like this??

Whatever method Baggins uses for listing available sorting categories allows you to set a filter for quest items. I don't know if it's an item tag or if that came from a manual database, but one way or another the proposed auto-quest item bar mod should be possible.

Would you need to use these auto-poulated items, or do you just need a count of how many you have?

I use LootCount too btw, ideal for daily quests cos you can leave them there for the next day.

Quest items you use. As I said, the same as Autobar's function, but standalone.

If this is just for dailies you might consider IHaveMacroLol from Wowace. It will auto switch in items/spells based on loads of options such as zone, subzone, mounted, combat, etc, so you can always have the right item for the quest you're doing in a single action bar slot without having to manually swap them around. Not tried it myself but maybe it will help here.

Hm, in my 6 month absence I've forgotten: Is linking to WoWInterface ok here? I found exactly what you want there. I PM'ed you the link, and if anyone else is curious, search for QBar.
