Question about flying and bombing. On my server, I think the Alliance outnumbers the Horde, at least they usally control the pvp places. Saturday morning while in Nagrand, I learned of a raid against Halaa that was happening at that time. I put in a request for a invite, and joined the raid. Successful raid, and alot of fun. After we took it, Alliance people started flying over and dropping bombs on us and the guards. My level 66 shaman had no way to retaliate. I would like to know how they dropped the bombs? Is this from engineering skill in making bombs? or is it part of the daily quest bombing runs only they can drop them on us instead? I haven't made it to level 70 yet, so I don't know how the flying and attacking ground targets with bombs work. Seemed mildly unsporting, and besides the large alliance force that showed up ran us out anyway. I don't mind they did it, I am just wondering what let them bomb us. I only died once from the bombs. Had just got rezzed, when a bomb landed on top of me before I could heal up. Bombs were more of a nuisance than a real threat unless you were already badly hurt.

From what it sounds like they were just taking Halaa back the way Blizz intended it to be done.

To take over Halaa you first need to get rid of all of the enemy guards before the town can be captured. While you can fight the guards on foot, it's a very slow process because their hit points are exceedingly high. A better way to get rid of the guards is to bomb them on the wyverns. It's best to have as many players as possible bombing the guards so that they will die more quickly.

Although

Bombing enemy players isn't that effective in comparison to attacking them directly. Enemy players can also just get on their flying mounts and stay up in the air to avoid bomb damage. But for a source of amusement, you can take potshots at enemy players standing near your wyvern posts just before you land.

Obviously to be on a flying mount to dodge the attacks is pretty impossible in your case as you are not 70 yet, You can generally hide in one of the buildings out of LoS of the attackers.

The Wyvern are located over the bridges leading out of Halaa to the N, S, E & W.

So is it only engineers who can employ the bombs?

I'm looking fwd to getting my flying machine and bombing the crap out of stuff..

No anyone can deploy then from the Wyvern just off the bridges leading out of halaa.
If Alliance own Halaa then the horde can bomb
if Horde own Halaa the Alliance can bomb.

Its just a little wagon outside Halaa with a wing rider perch, you should get the cog come over it as u mouse over.

You will get 10 bombs to deploy when u take off.

Thank you, That explained alot. One more question to clarify. Can any level use the wyverns? Or is it restricted to level 70?

Anyone can use the Wyverns at Halaa, you dont controll them though. They just fly a set route like the bombing quests in Hellfire.
