So the last 2 days I did my first 2 heroics (both Ramparts).
Before I go into details about my experiences I'll give you a little background on my style of play. I've never been a serious instance player. I did Stockade, DM, Gnomer & ZF a couple times whilst leveling, and then Ramparts (about 10 times), SV (twice), Shadow Labs (twice) and a few others in OL. So as you can tell I am not the most experienced player when it comes to instances, I spend alot of time questing whilst chatting to guildies.
However, I did alot of PVP and basically my entire gear is PvP epics, except 2 rings (aldor blue & crappy lv67 green) & the Shattered Sun epic necklace & epic engineering head. The rest is all the PvP set. You can check me out here (although my trinkets add alot to the stats, so hopefully I dont have a riding crop on when you check)

You can tell that its not great gear for doing high end instances.
Now on the my first 2 heroic experiences. The question I will be asking is about my damage output and if you can judge my performances by those stats.
The first PuG was with a healer from my guild. We had a good tank but the other DPS Mage/Hunter were not great. In the end the the damage output was like this;
Tank had about 31%, I had about 30%, and the mage/hunter about 19% each. Gear wise, the hunter & mage had lv70 blues much better suited to PvE
The second PuG was with a friend of mine & his 3 friends. They basically do Heroic ramparts 3-4 times a week with each other. The other 2 DPS were mages. The Damage stats ended up like this
Mage 1: 29.1%
Mage 2: 28.5%
Me: 27.9%
the tank picked up the rest.
Gear wise these guys were in half Kara/heroic epics and rest lv70 blues.
During this instance, the tank (who is an alt character and maybe not as well geared) at times would have less threat than me, so I would have to stop for a few seconds whilst the mages could continue from a distance.
Now I know basic stats like this wont tell you my overall performance, but what do you guys think from this? I dont consider myself a great player and I dont have that much knowledge about PvE. How do I stack up on the damage output scale? Is this ok for a rookie?
Where should a rogue be aiming to be? Is there a % that i should be aiming to reach?
Also what is the difference between rogue & mage damage output. Should a rogue expect to be delivering more damage than a mage, or do mages usually have better output?
I'm sure I've used many generalisations here, but again I'm new to this side of the game  Any tips would be appreciated
edit: Somehow my title got messed up.
It's meant to read Rogue starting out on heroics & my stats; good or bad?
Now I look like an even bigger idiot lol
