My first chr was a warlock. I played him to 70, full questing.
I loved my fel and dots.
Then at 70 I have just enough to buy a flying mount...man was I happy.
Then I started to work on Frozen set. After what seemed like endless grinding of materials. I was 372 tailoring. only needed one more piece..man I am going to get this going then work on money for epic mount.
I switched to 43/7/11, I believe that is what I had. I could grind and grind but I got sooo frustrated when after 6 yellow expensive patterns, I was at 373.
I just could not take it any more.
6 patterns and 1 POINT....man I can't type what I said about bliz and their crafting.
I don't know what to do...I can't even think of endless days of grinding again to get nowhere. Is there any other way to get tailoring up?
yep I read about a pattern that falls off a boss and the drop rate is less than 1%. ROFL
any ideas are very welcome this is just insane.

I can sympathize, I haven't managed to hit 375 on any of my crafting professions yet *shame* I always have more important things to spend the money on.
Good luck with it though ^ ^

I diverted funds from my Epic flyer fund to fuel my quest to 375 tailoring. Apparently my timing was accidentally perfect. I started buying netherweave fairly shortly after the new dailies. All those people grinding blood elves and wretched let to a flood of the stuff on the AH, it is still nicely priced though. If you're at 373 you should be able to grind out to 375 for only a couple hundred gold.

6 yellow expensive patterns
Hmm.. just wondering, did you get the patterns for the Imbued Netherweave Robe/Tunic? Because those are pretty cheap, especially in comparison to all the other patterns at that level that require tons of primals.
If you don't, then I hope you either are Scryer yourself, or have a Scryer friend who still owes you a favour. There's a vendor at the Sanctum of the Stars (Scryer only) in Shadowmoon Valley, who has a limited supply of both the Robe and the Tunic pattern. Make sure you get those (or at least one of them), and you'll no longer have to worry about insane grinding or huge prices. Sure, they do require Netherweb Spider Silk, but that's easier to grind than all those primals. For the rest they only need some Imbued Netherweave Bolts, and a piece of Rune Thread. Can't level any easier, and it stays yellow all the way up to 375.

Will agree to him on that. I made those till I reach 375. It was frustrating though only because of the spider silk. But I just farmed the spiders for like 30 mins and I had 20 of the silks and made my way to 375. Ask a friend or guildie or see AH to buy those patterns. Saves you a lot compared to the other patterns.

yep the imbued netherweave robe was great in getting my tailoring maxed out

I forgot the name but a friend said there is "1" pattern that is orange at 370+ its some boots that drop in high instance....1% chance to drop.

Thats how it is supposed to work.
@375 you basically get tier5 gear just for grinding some mats, so the journey there isn't supposed to be easy.
I know a guy that took 50 attempts to get the last 3 points.
At least you know with time that it will happen.
I downed the prince in kara nearly 50 times and never saw the 1h healing mace. I still haven't seen it.
Many things are random, but you will get the points just keep up the work.

im not sure if it actualy works or not but when im trying to get points from a yellow item i get a mage to buff my int or use a scroll and as a general rule i tend to get 1 point per yellow and had no probs hitting 375 in tailoring

That works about just as well as keeping a Rabbit's Foot in your bags to increase the number of greens that drop for you.

The problem with the tunic/robe patterns is that they turn green at 375, as I recall. That means they're on the low side of yellow, almost green at the point where you are now.
I would have advised you to save the previous epic piece for your very last skill point, it would still be orange or high yellow so a quaranteed skill up for the last, most painfully unlucky moment. But since I assume you've already crafted it you can only keep grinding mats and hoping.
You might also want to take a look at AH every now and then, if you see anything underpriced snatch it up. My holy priest would never have maxed tailoring if I grinded it all, but you'd be surprised how often you can find especially cloth at a bargain price. And the new dailies really help cover those costs.

Actually, while I'm not sure if it works on professions, an INT buff will accelerate your weapon skilling.

True, but it has absolutely no effect on proficiency levelling. Neither has the 'lowness' or 'highness' of the colour - yellow is yellow, and the odds of getting a skillup are as high when it has just turned yellow as when it's on the verge of turning green.
Trust me, you'll want to level to 375 on those Robes/Tunics. Same odds as the more expensive patterns that have the same skill colour, but way cheaper to make.
heh, I had an easier time with Enchanting then I did Tailoring, 24 Netherweave for 1 bolt of Imbued and you need 5-6(?) bolts per imbued robe? /cry, 360-375 Enchanting with +12 spell damage to ring enchant, cheapest and easiest to fund if you DE your robes instead of AH
Tailoring:
373-374 Frozen Shadoweave Boots/Shoulders
374-375 Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders/Boots
375 Frozen Shadoweave Robe

No I was too stupid to think of saving the boots and shoulders till the last....DOH
personally I didn't think it would be this way. I have never seen a yellow that took 6 to get 1.
AND in reality this is not random this is coded to be this way. (like a lot of so called random on buzzards part)
well I can farm or by the cloth.
BUT the spider silk.. I think drops have been nerfed again I am getting
at best 1 out of 10 kills.
AH prices are 40G each. BS
AND IF I went to the AH and using what is available to make 18 more hoping for 3 points would cost me somewhere in the range of 1800G IF I purchased it all on the AH.
AND now I don't even believe that 18 would get me the last 3 points.

6 yellows to get one point? happened to me several times. and that was in the 325 range.
as a lock, i can farm the spider silk no problem. i hear somewhere in botanica you can farm the spiders, but i forgot where, and i forgot who said it and i'll need to look at some old posts!

1 cause I can think of for this. The spiders in BM drop the silk quite readily (and I farm them from time to time for grins). Attunement to Kara is no longer required so fewer people going to BM = fewer silks for the AH.
