I recently began BGing and raiding Kara, and felt I needed something more than WoW standard interface. I had a hard time quickly seeing changes. So I found X-Perl. I'm glad about it, it serves my needs now.

Many in my guild uses Grid and Clique though, so CTRL-click a raid portrait to instantly cast spell "X".
I manually press the raid portrain (as they do) then CTRL, Shift, Alt and a number of 1-5 or for my main heals simply 1-5.

I worry if I lose too much time there doing that, but I don't feel it. If many of you other have tried both and/or just X-Perl and felt it is enough for Kara, SSC etc raiding, then I am confident.
If not I better change (sigh) soon rather than later.

Both can work fine, I use keys and have no issues. Since you can move both hands at once you shouldn't lose any time doing it that way, just do whatever you prefer.

That's what I think and hope, what do others feel? :)

IIRC, Clique will work with any unit/raid frame addon. It's just grid has some nice features and is pretty small as far as screen realestate is concerned.

When I heal I've got it set up so my action bar switches to all heals (2 ranks each of Chain heal, lesser healing wave and healing wave) and cleanse poison/disease, whenever I target a friendly player (either a tank or someone in the melee group, for the most part). Thatll allow me the greatest flexibility in my heals on them.

With clique, I have it set up so I can still click and heal various raid members as needed, without losing my main target.

So the 2nd section of your post was done by Grid? And the last part by Clique? Or both by Clique?

The actionbar part is likely Bartender/Bongos/Dominos/Trinity/similar.

I have bongos set up so that when I target friendlies, it switches to a bar of all healing/cleansing spells.

I have clique set up to also cast various healing/cleansing spells as I click on unit frames (currently, I'm using Grid, but I've done it with x-perl as well)

I pick a primary healing target, usually whomever's going to be taking the most damage in the group of people I'm assigned to heal, so that I can heal them with one button press. Everyone else, I heal via clique and my unit-frame mod (currently grid).
