has anyone seen a macro that will first dismiss pet and then feign death? When I feign of course my pet stays and gets killed which means I have to recast one...heal it...feed it.....help if you can....thanks

cast aspect of the cheetah. run away until your pet portrait "disappears". your pet will just need to be "called" back.
or use mend pet.

You could set up a cast sequence macro:
#showtooltip
/castsequence Dismiss Pet, Feign Death
However, I'm almost positive you really don't mean what you said. elsegundo has explained a far more useful solution.

i think the hunter in question wants to be able to quickly leave combat due to a bad pull or realizes he will die if he continues the fight. he is also under the assumption that feign death is the cure all answer to such events. this is sometimes true. however, sometimes feign death doesnt fool the mobs and the hunter will end up dead anyway. what we're going to have to live with is that our pet will still be fighting, and it will soon die. its part of life. but at least we get to live and avoid the horrible corpse run.
i use feign death as an emergency drop all aggro ability. in doing this, it will give me the ability to flee without anything chasing me, or the ability to heal up. often, if a fight goes long and my pet is about to die, i will put it on passive and try to draw aggro on me while mending pet. once im down on my health and my pet is back to full health, i can send him back in, feign death, then bandage up and continue shooting the mob down. this is usually thought out beforehand, usually before i fight an elite or an instance boss.

Personally, Aspect of the Cheetah has never worked for me trying to run away from combat because of the stun penalty if you get hit. I always get hit when I start running.
With that said, I don't understand why you're pet dying is such a pain for you if it saves you from dying? So you have to raise it, mend it and feed it... At least you didn't have to do a corpse run.

95% of the time i dont have aggro. so most of the time if my pet is about to die, its probably because its taking too much damage that my mendpet cannot compensate for, and if i take the aggro from the pet to let him heal, i'll probably die too. so AoC and run (without any mobs aggro'ed on me). oh and you also need to watch where you're going. that helps too. i do this often when im traveling without a mount at the lower levels. i'll be going to my questing spot when a mob attacks. my pet picks it up. i keep running. 10 seconds later, i pause to "call pet". and i keep running.

Good point... I usually try to aggro 1 (or 2 if it's not too dangerous) and put 1 or 2 on my pet... Especially if i'm trying to get leather.
