I'm enjoying the Midsummer Fire Festival =]

I really am.

The flame juggling(torch catching) has been a bit of a pain, but it took me about 10 tries to actually figure out what i was supposed to do. i enjoyed the "Flames of Failure" message, it cracks me up each time.

the torch tossing one is super easy.

but the best part has been the constant explorations though all of azeroth and some of outland. i've already desecrated most of azeroth's flames and honored pretty much all of my faction's flames. i also gained just about 1 level's worth of experience from doing this (killing nothing really, and not even getting attacked by enemy faction).

i've killed the ice monster by the dark portal. i thought it was rather easy. fighting Ice monsters during a fire festival makes sense.

I do want to fight ahune. so im trying to organize something so my guild can run through it and kill it. we'll see how that goes.

anyway... im doing this for the exp and for the Captured Flame. anyone doing this for the vestments (vestment, mantle, sandals, crown)?

I like it a lot. I took my rogue around and did the Honor/Desecrate thing Saturday. My favorite though, was stealing the flames from all 4 Horde cities, esp Org. Flew to Azshara, swam down the river, stealthed into Org... too many horde... used the Alliance raid as a distracion, stole the flame. Most rogueish thing I've done in a long time.

And the Honoring/Desecrating nettedme about 400g... mmm gold...

I *LOVE* it.
I spent all of saturday visiting each flame, and did every single one without dying once. Also went to all 4 horde city ones without dying (Rogue lol).

So far I've bought the dancing flame thing, and the shoulders & chest. Doubt there is anyway for me to get the sandals thought, but always next year!

I have been to every flame except Silvermoon and Ghostlands. Got my fire pet (which is pretty dull but hey..) for 350 blossoms. I enjoyed the revisit of lots of places I hadn't been to in a long time and exploring some new places I'd missed. I also enjoyed the effortless gold I got from it, quite a bit.

I played around with it a bit yesterday. Quite fun. I did all the Kalimndor flames that are on the mainland (stupid alliance living on islands) and killed the summon able ice elemental (took a minute to find the summon stone thing). I wish it was feasable for a lock to get the capital city flames without a raid. I'd really like to assemble the entire clothing set and get the pet.

i found it pretty easy to run away from guards in alliance towns. but it was mainly because i have a fast mount. once they reset, im free to walk right up to the flames and steal it. the easiest to get to was probably Darnassus. take the boat and its right off the pier. however, its a high traffic area so grab it quick and go. i suggest jumping off the boat right before you stop and swimming to the land. Exodar is the second easiest. its basically a pretty empty city, so just avoid the guards and you'll be fine. SW and IF are a bit harder to get to, but once you get inside one city, it just requires that you take the tram to the next one.
