Just before the beta started the German blogging site allvater reported they had spoken to the CM Gnorog and he had told them 3rd July beta start if no problems come up, everyone was of course skeptical. Allvater stand by their story however, they report they have contacted him again to double check and he told them it would still be July, but not the 3rd due to an internal miscommunication due to the stress of the WWI.

Won't be July 3rd. July 4th is a national holiday in the US and is next to a weekend - lots of people will be off and outside.

you people go outside?

it can also mean the 3rd week of July, but in any case July is as good a time as ever to start the closed Beta, specially since things are going smoothly and we've yet to hear of any problems

I saw that one and no one can really back that up, might just be someone with way too much time on his hands that made that box. (Like that guy that says he's playing Diablo 3 already but actually showing the WWI gameplay trailer on youtube)

The first sentence is what the told us after Blizzcon 07. It's an odd way to do things and I think a bit oh, annoying. I mean... don't give me a special code and then tell me it's not really special and I might as well signup like everyone else.

OTOH, I'm not sure I want to play the beta if I do get in. Kind of spoils the surprise of release.
