Underpriced And Overlooked At The AH

Looking through the Auction House a couple of nights ago, I found a Deviate Scale Belt for 12g50s. This is a decent piece of gear for a 19 twink, so I bought it, relisted it for 25g, and sold it in a couple of hours.

On my server it isn't uncommon to see twink gear underpriced, and I've made a few gold this way. For those of you who dabble in the AH, I'm curious as to whether you've noticed particular items that always seem to be listed cheaper than they should be ?

Well... I've been wanting to get the Darkmoon Crusade card for a bit... and all I've needed is the Ace. Over the last few days I've seen it for 800g, 775g, 725g (sold in a few hours, and 700g. So I log in this AM... and see that someone got impatient and listed one for 550g.

That's what I look for - things that are in regular demand and where someone gets impatient. If I didn't need it to complete the set I'd buy it and list it for 725g... mmm gooolllldddd

I guess you need to love playing the AH. Usually the time it takes to scan the place and get something at 12 gold that resells at 25, you can do 5 dailies for 50 gold.

But sometimes you hit the jackpot...found a pattern on Hordeside that I knew somebody wanted badly on Alliance side (advertised it on forums). 300 gold bargain turned into a 2000 gold buy out....

Or get to a point in your WoW career where you just need a change of pace for a while. :yawn:

Actually I don't play the AH much, but what I DO do is use Auctioneer 5 which shows you where an item ranks according to historical prices. If an item is on the historical price it's shown as 100%... if it's cheaper it's shown at 80% or whatever. Now do a search for all epic level 70 items.... anything look cheap? If so, see if you can buy and relist for enough to make the risk worthwhile. For example I could have relisted that Ace of Blessings for 650g and made 100g in a day (minus AH share, etc). Repeat for blue twink items. Nothing? Ok, try later.

I scan the AH while I take a shower, cook dinner, hang my laundry - you get the drill. Looking for bargains after the scan takes less then a minute. Easy earnings.

I always check out the listed Fury and Blessings cards, and jewelcrafting designs. They sell well, and people are regularly listing them for a lot less then they are actually worth.
