Account Closure??

Hey guys... I wake up this morning, try to sign on to check my auctions, and it says my acct has been closed...

I check my e-mail and it says it was closed for illegal 3rd party software... Now I have never used anything illegal, I dont even use alot of addons. (auctioneer, Pally power for my pally, meta map and omen). My hunter is in T6, 1 kill from Illidan, with an epic flyer there would be no reason to cheat.

The only thing i can think of, I have spent the past week trying to farm up the 4 dragon whelp pets.. The 1st 3 were easy but yesterday i spent on and off 6 hours trying for the azure one.. In the process of farming it, I got 2 epic drops (The shadowblade and stockade pauldrons), 5 blues, bout 100 greens and about 300g. I live in Viet Nam, so is it possible they said, "farming for a week, lives in asia, and just assumed i was a gold farmer??

If so, do I have any recourse? Cant they check guild chat and see i was talking the whole time?
Cant they see that I soulbound all of the whelps, soulbound the shadowblade to my shammy, and have a bank full of herbs and primals?.. not exactly the behavior indicitive of a gold farmer..

Now i know all the questions you will ask so here are the answers:

Only I know my password (though I'm sure my wife could figure it out if she tried)

Only myself, my wife and my 8 week old son can get near my comp.

This WoW acct has never even been logged into from anywhere but this comp. Now, I have played while in the states, and in London, and even in the airport in Kuala Lempur, Malaysia, but for the past 13 months it has never been played anywhere other than on this desk.

I use "i hate keyloggers", and I am always very carfull on the web, I even took out my acct name when i posted the e-mail, I've seen too many people get hacked to be reckless.

I use firefox.

This isn't a case of OMFG I got banned, all i did was use this program that lets me zomg pwn lvl 70's and not even have to be there... I know what is legal and what is within the terms of the TOS. Hell all t his talk about keyboards.. here;s a confession I'm A CLICKER!!!

Now circumstantial red flags.. i can see going up.. I havent played anywhere near as much as I used to since my son was born 8 weeks ago, pretty much just a raid or 2 a week. Then I have a day where i farm constantly, end up w/ a few epics a bunch of blues and more enchanting mats and leather then you can imagine.. So i flood the ah w/ all my whelpless drops.. Maybe they saw the inconsistencies did a check , saw i was in asia and bam.. I really dont know..

But I don't cheat, I have never cheated, as a matter of fact out side of raids I dont even use most of my addons.. Auctioneer and xpearl are pretty much all thats constantly running.

I'm pretty bummed and upset.. All thouse hours 2 70's in T6 and T5.. epic flyers, and of course all my friends both RL and in game that wow is a conduit for me to keep in touch with.

Any ideas guys? i sent them an e-mail, but in the original e-mail they sent they said closed accts will not be reopen.. do they ever admit to making a mistake or am i just screwed? Pretty terrible, WoW is one of my main forms of correspondence with friends and family back in the states.. Would they really just assume something because my IP is from Asia?? What do you all think?

blizzard will on occasion reinvestigate an account closure but I haven't heard them ever appologizing or admitting to being wrong. best thing to do is wait and see. only you know if you're innocent or not

just have bliz investigate it. it might take a while though, with all the back and forth communication and wait times.

one thing to see if you can get... the authenticator keyring thing. speaking of which, i need to check to see if its still sold out. =/

I have no advice to offer, but I will say this- I hope it gets sorted out. It's scary to think that the odd farming here and there when you hardly play would cause this too happen.

Assuming you're totally innocent.. I'd push this pretty hard if you want to continue in WoW. Although I've never had an issue with it, this is one of the things that I don't like about Blizzard - that they seem to warn some people, close accounts on others, etc. Before they wipe out all of the progress that someone has made, they should be VERY sure of what they're doing - and look at NOYB in another thread... banned... and it was a case of mistaken identity. Um... that doesn't exactly inspire confidence Blizz....

I don't think farming in itself is reason for closure, a lot of use form for this or tht over the course of our gaming life.

Log into the game and see if you really are locked out. The email could be a fake.

does using a bot count as 3rd party software? thats the only thing blizzard could be thinking.

Like most of these posts we are left guessing because the OP either does not have or does not provide all of the information.

if the OP can give proof of paying for the account (such as the authentication key) then blizzard should have enough evidence to know the account is his and will take off the ban

EDIT: sorry forgot this was about 3rd party software. in which case if you can prove that you haven't put any illegal files in the WoW folder on your computer then they should let you off. don't ask me how you can do this though (printscreen maybe)

Well, if it IS a mistake by Blizzard, he can't really provide much. After all, aside from saying " I don't run any third party software" what can you say if you're innocent? There's no way anyone here can PROVE that they don't run that stuff - you can't prove the absence of somehting like that aside from direct examination (and even then one could have reformatted and reinstalled everything).

I meant more of our speculation here on the forum because these types of posts never provide all the information and the posters rarely return.
