Hi guys. I'm not a long time WoWer. I've only got to lvl 35ish and quit everytime. But this time around I'm actually enjoying it a lot more. I was quick on rolling a troll warrior on a server, then my buddy wanted to go to another so here I am rolling a BE Priest. Just a quick question though..
I know the Barrens like the back of my hand, and I know how to lvl quick there, yet I find it extremely boring since I've gone there so many times to lvl with five of my other chars back in the days.
And the Ghostlands seem fun, but the quests are a bit hard...yet I hear it is a quick place to level. I'm having some problems soloing some quests especially as a priest.
So my question to you is... Is it worth staying on this side of the map to level, or should I just go where I'm more comfortable, yet a little bored with?
What would be faster? All I really care about is speed. I just want to level quick!

Ghostlands will be much faster to level and is much smaller overall. Barrens is horrible. The quests are much more interesting and you can get a really good cape (for Melee anyway) if you do all the quests also.
If you have problems soloing the quests in Ghostlands, it will be easier in Barrens

I think with one exception, I've ran every character over to ghostlands to level. There is a lot less running all over the map and the rewards are better.
One thing that can help if you are struggling in the Ghostlands is to head over and do the first few quests around Crossroads in the Barrens to pick up a couple of levels before heading back. A couple levels makes a big difference in the Ghostlands, and you will have a much easier time with quests out there.

Skip the crossroads, thats too much traveling.
Instead head to the 10-20 undead racial zone (name is escaping me at the moment). If you do all the silvermoon quests you should be around lvl 12 by the time you hit Ghostlands or close to it. Head over there and do all the low level quests (its a fairly small zone too, and the groups are clustered well) there. That should get you to 14. Head back to Ghostlands and it should be much easier and you should then stay a couple levels over available quests. If things get rough, head back to the undead and do more quests until you gain a couple levels.
I've always found it much easier to level quickly by doing quests in two nearby areas and alternating that by rushing through one zone by itself. As you level, most areas have 2 clusters of zones in the same continent that are similar levels, with a third on the other continent. Alternate between the two in the same continent and you will never run out of quests, only rarely needing to hit the third area.
This prevents the need to ever grind even a little bit.

yeah silverpine is good for casters especially when you get to lvl 13-14. you'll find lots of dalaran apprentices which are frost casters so easy for you to take down as a priest. great for farming linen cloth as well for first aid and/or tailoring. you also have the moonrage clan there who are humanoids which you can skin (gasp) so its good for your skinning.
