Hi can someone please help me just since i started my wow today a typical patch started downloading and cam up with this error may someone help

This is what came up!:

The patch "enGB-hdfiles\WoW.mfil" could not be applied. (CRC mismatch: expected 0x42f38022, actual 0x55dbe4e2.) If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (BNUpdate::PTCApply)

I am getting the exact same error. Thanks for the helpful advice Wintrow *rolls eyes* !! :P

My husband seems to think it may be because the servers are offline as he sometimes get similar errors on LOTRO.

My version is only the trial version as I am still waiting for my game to arrive and I thought it was because of that. I will keep trying though! :D

Sometimes it helps to download the full patch from another - trustworthy - site and then applying it yourself. At least, that's what helped me one time when I got this error and I have the full game installed.

Will wow wiki have the patch up yet, or is it even working with them?

how i fixed the problem and it works all the time was:-
in the world of warcraft trial directory, i deleted the 2 (two) files
wow-2.4.2.8301-to-2.4.3.8613- enGB downloader
wow-2.4.2.8301-to-2.4.3.8613- enGB patch
then i just clicked the desktop icon to launch the came again, it will download the patch again, but this time it will install and work

hope it will work for you
