Okay, so know nothing about wow except that my husband plays it and my 2 boys love it. Were having them a wow themed birthday party in 3 weeks, and I need help some details because my husband isn't very creative.

The invitations:
I want to print them off onto colored paper and glue dowels on the ends to make them into scrolls. Here's the thing, I want them to sound like were inviting kids to go on a quest, but not be above the other parents heads. They still need to somewhat know what were inviting them to lol. One boy will be handing out invites to join his alliance, and the other to join his horde. So I basically need any wording relative to the game/quests and a birthday party. We also want to include the fact that each child will get 50 coins for play, a tshirt to match which side their on, and food. Oh, and we booked an arcade for the party.

The decorations:
Any ideas on what we could make to decorate the party room? All I have is colored table covers so far.

Thanks for any help we can get for this. I want to make sure this is a party my boys (even the hubby) can be proud of!

You go to a site like wowhead and browse the different quests there. They have the full quest text so you can get an idea of what the quests normally contain.

another cool resource is wowinsider. This sections contains food based on WoW in-game items or food:
http://www.wowinsider.com/category/well-fed-buff/

This section is kind of a WoW arts and crafts column:

PS: just a small nitpick, it's not his Alliance and his Horde. The Alliance and Horde are two opposing factions.

The Alliance invitations could say something like "Grab your sword and fight the Horde" and the Horde would saying something like "For the Horde". Both of these are well known sayings to people who play WoW.

for the invitations you could have something like

"travel to [arcade address] and reunite with [birthday boy's name], etc etc.
quest rewards: 50 copper, t-shirt, [warcraft food of choice]"

for decorations you could perhaps have stuff in blue for the alliance and stuff in red for the horde. the link knab have posted will help.

OMG, thank you both so much! Since it's a party for both of my boys one will be the Horde and one will be Alliance. They loved the idea of the whole opposing each other/fighting thing lol. Thanks so much, I'm on my way to check out those links!

Almost all the quests in WoW start out with..."[name of person], I need you to do [something] for me. blah blah blah"

The "something" is usually 1 of 3 things.
1. Deliver this package/letter to so-and-so at [name of place].
2. Kill x number of monster y and report back to me.
3. Collect x number of somethings and report back to me.

You can probably do without the kill quest, but the other 2 could easily be written to go with a party theme.

The end of the quest usually lists a reward, or choice of rewards.
Your first quest...

Deliver this invitation to [some person] at [place name] and collect your t-shirt.

Choose your reward: Alliance blue t-shirt....or...Horde red t-shirt

Quest givers (in your case someone organizing activities at the party) are always recognizable from the yellow ! over their head.
People with quest rewards (i.e. the person handing out t-shirts or the arcade tokens maybe) would have a yellow ? over their head.

A lot of the food in WoW has strange sounding names, like "Crunchy Spider Kabobs". You might be able to find some appropriate names to play with on those links Khab posted. I know there is at least 1 cake recipe. And drinks are always served in steins. (Maybe you can find some plastic mugs with large handles for them to drink out of.)

For decorations...maybe the arcade will let you make a sign renaming it the "Goldshire Inn". That seems to be a popular place for both factions in WoW. or "The CrossRoads". Or...somebody help me out here...what's the full name of the Fair that goes to Stormwind and Thunderbluff ? That would fit for an arcade.

oh...and if you want to get a chuckle out of your husband, be sure and put a little sign on or near the birthday cake that says..."You no take candle."

It's the Darkmoon Faire.

I dont know if you want to go this far but if you have a couple old sheets you dont mind trashing or possible have a value store near you to get something like it cheep you can cut them up into tabards for the kids to wear. Nothing more the a piece of cloth with a hole in it for their head to go through. You can have your kids color them red or blue (horde or alliance) or they can make their own design like guild tabards in game.
