Hey everyone.
Having abit of a problem.
I have installed WoW and done afew patches now it's gotten to the
Downloading: "WoW-2.4.3-to3.0.1-TBC-EU-Update"...
And nothing is happening, It's showing on the downloader at 0% Even though it's been on for over an hour.
just says 0 bytes of 992MB
Plz help.
The background downloader may run very slowly. It took a few separate days before I had the entire thing. Make sure you have the appropriate ports open and that you enable the peer sharing. The patch won't be final for a few weeks so you have plenty of time to get it.

An hour isn't really a large or a significant amount of time for the future patches, you shouldn't be needing that patch to play the game so go ahead and ignore it. It'll go in all proper speed when it is actually needed, right now is just the advanced peices to lessen the strain on the big actual patch days, technically useless in other words. The fact that it is going slowly or in your case not at all isn't a worry at this point.
If I had to ponder on why it isn't moving, I'd say that it knows it isn't a needed update and is just waiting for the connection to be idle, no sense filling up the bandwidth with an unnecessary and unneeded amount of information if it is already being used by something almost certainly of more current use. It's put the update on the backburner, something admittedly nice to have but a lower priority to whatever is going on elsewhere, that priority will shift closer to launch and utilisation of that patch.

The reason that the Blizzard downloader is so slow is because it's throttling the bandwidth for you, unlike normal Bittorrent clients where you can dictate the speed the Blizzard downloader takes it slowly, after all you don't really want to have your bandwidth sucked up by the download do you?
As an alternative you could simply go to the patch mirror pages on the Wowwiki website and download the files from there or simply go to the cache directory and open the torrent file with your torrent client and download in manually.
