I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me how to change my hotkeys into action bars so i could give clicking a go mainly because my fingers hurt from button mashing on my keyboard XD
P.S Before sombody writes "OMG, WTF D0 YOU W4NNA CL1K 4 THATZ 4 NUBZ" i dont click, i wanna try it out, plus i dont see the big problem people have with clicking anyways =S
Uh..I am kinda lost with this question. Could you post your UI right now?
Usually you take a bar mod like bartender, trinity or bongos, arrange it as you like it and click the buttons. Or you use the default Blizzard UI and click on the spells...

i mean like, in this video http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=amnkJn7Mop8 the guy uses lots of action bars and he has no hot keys, that how i want my HUD to be =D

He doesn't click. Only when not in combat or to place the Blizzards.
Look closer.
That said, to click, you just click on the button. There's nothing magical or fancy about it.
Well..he uses Arcanum to bundle his armours and foods, water and other buffs.
Then something like Bartender or Bongos..it hides Blizzards UI and you drag your spells from the spellbook into the bars, then click it. No mystery indeed.

the problem with klicking is that you need the mouse to move, look around etc. you can not do both at the same time.
if you are used to hotkeys anyway, dont change it. it will only make you slower.

If you have a mouse with multiple buttons, bind the easy to reach ones to your most used abilities to reduce finger work on the keyboard.

easy. options -> interface -> actionbars. then fill in check box for the action bars you want to have open. use one, use two, use all. i use them to place my not so used spells there, as well as different levels of heals on my healer and certain major spells that i'll never use unless on the off occassion that i might use it. portals, rebirth, etc.

one other thing... your fingers hurt from hotkeying? Um... you don't need to mash the button. I can't imagine hitting a key hard enough to make my fingers hurt.

On top of that, there's a 1second / 1.5second Global Cooldown on spells. Hitting one button 5 times really fast doesn't do anything over hitting it every 1.5s.

Yup..at least M3, m4, m5 with important actions is a great help.
I have a MX 400, I believe from Logitech and it technically has even more buttons, but try as I might I cannot get them working for WoW (little buttons below and above the mousewheel, possibly used for Word or browsers)

try using the logitech software to map the button presses to a keyboard key instead of directly to a hotkey set up on wow.
im looking at the mx400 online and i do not see keys above and below the mousewheel.
My bad, it is a MX 510
Currently my M5 is shadowbolt, M4 is drain life, M3 varies...sometimes SoC, sometimes fear, etc..depends on raid / pvp / dailies
If I'd map the M8 to key "h"..well..how does that help me in game..or do you assign the "h" in game to a spell then?

yes. exactly! lol. i have a logitech L7, i think. it has two buttons right below the scroll wheel which i use for "NumLock" and "M", which i've hotkeyed M for my mount macro. i dont even use M for the world map anymore. i just scroll over the button on my minimap to get a bigger map. but you're free to use "H". lol. and numlock is the autorun, which turns my numlock on and off. somehow auto run doesnt work when i set it up in WoW to work with the #4 mouse key, so i did it with the logitech software.
Oh, tested it just now..awesome, many thanks.

That is an interesting guild :)
Even our most awesome healers use a few spells that they need to click and have installed "Clique" to work with non-clickable UI bars (for example mouseover hotkeys worl with GRID, but you cannot click on GRID with ...say...your middle mouse button and it heals that person)
I know there are a few people now who viciously defend clicking...but as in the legendary guide by Osiris for rogues, I can only enhance that "Don't be a clicker" is oh so true.

Clicking is up there with keyboard turning tanks. I think you should stick to the hotkeys..
