I'm kinda scared to answer this as I will probably get flamed bad, but oh well.. Honestly, MMOglider has kept me playing WoW.. It takes the crappy grind part away, lets me stay up to date with rep, farming mats, etc without spending hours upon hours doing endless grinding.
I leveled 3 toons up to 70 by hand and will not level another one up without the help of a bot. With the bot, i was able to play the other classes. I have had a 70 of every class, before bannings of course.
I used this for personal enjoyment of the game. I never controlled the AH or sold massive amounts of materials.. I've never had insane amounts of gold like some people do.. never did anything to bother or hurt people's WoW experience. I bot where people don't normally go and where there are no quests.
...on the other hand, I dont like when people use bots for profit.. you can make LOTS of easy money botting to sell accounts or farm gold and sell that. This is not something I agree with.
simply, I just don't have the time to play this game all the time and the bot helps me have time gor things other than WoW.
I know this isnt the best forum to talk about this kind of thing so flame on if need be...

what i dont understand is why you would bot in the first place. sure it takes some extra time to level up more toons, but when i level, i intend to learn to play my class, and learn all the nuances and intricacies of each class i do play. i like working on my spells, my macros, my tactics, and learning how i can best integrate myself in a group. these things cannot be learned when using bots like glider. and for the leveling aspect, even the rep aspect, i guess im a bit new to the rep grind, but i do enjoy grinding some of it, just for the very few rewards they offer. to me, the rewards mean a lot more if i actually worked for them than if i did just bot away. i've done things like used codes for PS games and such, and the end result has always been a lackluster game experience and little sense of accomplishment.
blizz has made it easier to grind. faster leveling through 20-60. now im hearing faster leveling from 60-70 also. no word of the rep grind, but still. these things are in-game accomplishments, meant to make it a rewarding game. i think the day i start to contemplate using a bot will be the day i quit wow.

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. Its not like I did it from 1-70 without touching it. Every few levels I'll do some quests or an instance to learn the class and get some gear. After leveling a few chars and raiding with other people, you kinda learn other classes so I wasn't totally blind to the class.
Yeah I know that Blizzard has made grinding easier, but you're still looking at a week or 2 of /played time to get to level 70 if you know what you are doing.. I'm sorry but that's a lot of time no matter how you look at it.
Plus it keeps the wife from *****ing so much about me playing wow.. that in itself is priceless!!
